You need to redesing the HW, rewrite the SW and of course you can improve because you have more performance in CPU. That's exactly what happened but that requires investments which need to be financially rewarded - as simple as that.

the OG is under 400 right now. it doesn’t offer twice as much, specially not since the last update. but it’s fine, we’ll see how it goes down in price dramatically fast. as the OG did. it’s a very niche market and they should price it accordingly IMHO.

@@Solersoler Actually the OG went up in price after it's release. It just went down recently. It does seem to offer twice as much to me. Unless I missed it, there are currently only 8 tracks vs 16. I guess this will have twice as much sample memory, stereo sampling, synth engines you won't find in the OG and so on... Obviously if you feel that this doesn't warrant the price then don't buy it. The Mini and the Play+ both have been €100 cheaper for some time a few months ago. You can always play the waiting game.

@@MonsieurTONG exactly... useless for pros. amazing how companies at one hand want to fuel the hardware market while at the same time just ignoring the needs of that market. every single electronic producer that is into gear uses a mixer and needs multiple outs. how want's f*cking use a aggregated device on a computer to be able to use multiple interfaces in a DAW at the same time and than have to use a converter to actually get those signals in the analog domain. it's a really nice toy, but if you're into using multiple hardware synths/fx etc... why bother
