These sticks are great, I received a pair to test out and they are really durable and I'm normally an oak guy.....give them a shot, they are strong bats and can handle sharp snare hoops like I have......

Been trying out both Forward and Rebound balance versions of the 5B Firegrain stick and I really like them both!! I think after playing both versions for a little while I think I finally found the stick for me, and not just becuz one of my favorite drummers in playing it. I really feel that the Rebound 5B Firegrain sticks are perfect for my style of playing and how I play. So, thank you Promark for making such amazing drumsticks...and drumheads too of course!👍🏼

I believe I was a tester of these sticks though we were not told what brand made them. It was a blind test. It is the dark brown appearance that gives me this impression. I loved the pair I was sent and asked for a sponsorship since my band plays the San Diego area constantly. Never heard back though.

I love the Tim Fairbanks marching sticks! I use them on so many percussion things that I do. Exhalent stick's. I would do th a bit different for me ,but they are incredible none the less. Ah, well hopefully I'll like the wood tips enough that I won't even miss the nylon. I must say that really I appreciate the quick response to my comment. So I'm currently a Vic Firth drumsticks kinda guy but I am looking for something that can give me more veriety with my sticks. I've been checking out y'all's website to see what all kinds of verieties of sticks y'all have and I came across the Firegrain in 5B...either forward or rebound balance. What can y'all tell us about these NEW sticks from Promark that other companies seem to lack or are missing out on? Again really thinking about making the switch from Vic Firth to Promark

Is it just me or there regular hickory sticks are more durable than the Firegrain ones? I play Promark 7A sticks and bought 6 firegrain 7As this year. Almost every other month I break the firegrains and that dont happen so often with the regular ones.

This is a reintroduction. Firegrain used to be out in the 80’s ? What was the time ProMark. I owned the very short 7a’s. Liked the feel but come on, we complained about them being too short like they are complaining today. Fix what’s broken, don’t just reintroduce.

So, not only does this not really explain anything about the stick, I seriously wonder if there's a guy standing on the other side of the line throwing water on burning wood. Burning wood doesn't usually make it stronger. I think ProMark is getting wood confused with metal.

No, its called fire hardening. Been used since we were making spears bud. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fire_hardening Burning wood does actually make it stronger. Its if you hold it there till its destroyed that it doesn't, you can heat metal up, but only to a certain extent before it melts.

Seems like an enormous waste of time. Make drumsticks stronger so they, what, destroy heads and cymbals? Horrible idea. If I want stronger drumsticks I'd buy ones made from maple. I buy mine made out of hickory because it gives way instead of the drum head or the cymbal. By the way, Ahead already makes metal sticks and fools like Lars Ulrich use them. You want to destroy your drums use hard sticks. Be my guest.

Anne L. You buy Maple for it's toughness?? That's the exact opposite of tough. If you want a strong stick go with oak👍🏽 If your technique is somewhat good you won't crack a cymbal because of harder sticks. For sure if you use em as sledgehammers you will bust some cymbals😄

Anne L. Hickory is stronger than maple. Frankly, it doesn't matter how hard the wood is because if you have technique and have gotten proper instruction you will not break anything.
