This map reminds me of one of the Mario Kart Double Dash battle mode maps. It got me thinking you could possibly create a mario kart battle mode game mode. It could be like Shine Thief or Balloon battle, maybe even bob ombs. You can throw in some pads around the map sparingly so that it has that you can do some aerials. Use some of the power ups or even the heatseeker ball like it is a red shell but it would need to lock onto the play(adjust the stats for it probably). I don't know how lives or possession could be done but the falling in the Lava thing kinda works. I wonder if there is a way to change the ball collision to act like car collision so that it can knock players back.

I think if you place them around the corners of the towers in the middle, it could be a niche, but interesting power up. Also being in the middle could signify you have the grapple. Also opens a way for some crazy swing shots
