@@juliustheshark5762More likely the requirement to contain 500kg of luxury equipment and the continual need to make every generation slightly bigger, with slightly more equipment, slightly bigger wheels, slightly bigger engine and slightly higher speeds and a slightly higher price tag. It's perfectly possible to make a safe and fast car under 1000kg - it would take carbon fibre, innovation and imagination.

@@robertely686 No it wouldn't. You need all the safety equiptment, electronics, luxury, etc. Not to mention alot more parts. And even if it was possible, the minimum price you could sell it to make a decent profit would be through the roof.

This is how I used and abused my 964 Carrera 4 on the Alps when living on Albertville (France). I was having fun with my snowboard on Super Tignes, and also when going to it and coming back home. Real fun. No winter tires. No snow chains. Pure intense driving!

With all the reliability issues resolved (IMS, RMS upgrade, etc.), I love my 99 996 C2 and while it's smaller than today's modern 911 and considered the last of the older school 911's, it's still water cooled. Been giving serious thought to selling it and my 928 to fund (partially LOL!) either a 964 or SC. The prices for these older air cooled 911's are bit hard to swallow with clean 964's commanding $50,000 plus price tags.
