Hello from Texas, I watched your past videos in-order to purchase my PCP air compressor over a year ago. I bought the GX CS4, it has been a great machine. I have a question on the grease port or pot. I looked for a breakdown on the grease pot and how it is assembled. Because,,,,, I unscrewed my pot to see how it works..... ummm, there was a rubber seal in the bottom with no holes to let grease in the little grease port...... is this correct for a rubber seal to be over the hole? Now that I have showed all my mistake, could you give a breakdown on how it is supposed to be put together correctly and explain how the grease gets past the rubber seal? Thanks
@TargetForge
@TargetForge 5 ай бұрын
Just put it back together exactly as it came apart and DO NOT MODIFY the rubber disk, there is nothing wrong with it. It is designed to limit the amount of grease that enter the system in case someone starts cranking on the knob. Also be sure to NOT mix a grease of unknown compatibility in the pot, Target Forge sells the exact same grease that came in your unit from the factory, and truth be told that grease for a sliding application is really good.

Hi Bill, I just got my CS4-I first thing I noticed was the hose. I wanted to know if you recommend upgrading the fill hose. The stock one seems very skinny and flimsy, especially compared to the hose on my Air Venturi hand pump. It’s hard to imagine it can handle 5800 PSI, not that I have anything that requires that currently. Do you think a better, wider hose will also improve the speed?
@TargetForge
@TargetForge 7 ай бұрын
I have found the fill hose be perfectly adequate. You really cannot tell flow rate from external diameter. Unless you actually cut open both and evaluate wall thickness you will likely come up with an incorrect assumption. Rejoice that you may never need that hand pump again!

All I can offer is the facts. If you desire to fill a bottle, and lug it around and refill it when it gets low AND fill guns directly, the CS4 or CS4-I is a great choice. Now if you simply want to fill your gun between sessions the CS2 (Manual) and CS3 (Autostop) are great choices. It all depends on how you intend to use it.

Bill, I desperately need your input. I just got this compressor. I'm only filling guns with standard HPA tubes, not small tanks, directly. There isn't any sort of filter on this unit. I don't think it has an inner filter either, like the Benjamin Recharge, which is similar in many ways. Is the CS4-I safe to fill guns directly as is, or should I get a small inline filter? I'm guessing the huge Tuxing molecular seive filter would probably be a bit overkill to fill guns, right? Right now, I'm just refilling my guns after shooting and bringing them back up to full. A very short charge. I hope I'm not dumping moisture into these guns now. Thanks in advance. I appreciate your time. Cheers.

Was planning on getting this as my main air, so was really happy to find that you've already done a video on it. Definitely be upgrading the DC lines and fitting w/ connectors, and an hour meter. I hate doin' stuff twice, and never regret buying quality, so I'm hoping to start out with decent gear to support my new Western AG. But here's the thing, while I really enjoyed your presentation on the Alpha filter, et al, I was curious why airgunners weren't trying to filter and dry their incoming air? Seems a better job could be accomplished for less dough, even if just passing your incoming charge through a desiccant bed. I use something similar (although w/ a considerable carbon chamber for organic vapor absorption) for my basement 3D printer & air brush hood set ups, where I need to clean and dry the air in a somewhat closed loop system. Figure it would improve compressor life as well, while also allowing longer life from any high pressure gear on the output side. Just curious on your take. Love your channel! 😊

Open the burst disc fitting and remove the disc and the bolt that secures it. Make sure you have good water flow (My light kit is great for this) and let it run for an hour. Carefully use a cotton applicator and clean all the excess gook out of the burst disc port and carefully reassemble. Should be good to go now. Don't do that again! Lol.

Hello Dave, ambient temperature can affect initial rpm until the machine achieves its normal operating temp. Booking a session with me on the Target Forge website would allow me to hear it running for myself. I see you are in the Northeast, will you be storing your compressor in an unheated space? Some anti freeze products when used at the wrong ratio can dramatically affect cooling capacity. I would run it and run the dead head test a few times before your return window on Amazon closes.

@TargetForge
@TargetForge 9 ай бұрын
The factory has stated that after the initial turn at 6 hours, only turn it when you hear it slow down. I disagree with them on this matter. I would advocate for once at six hours once at 16 hours and then every 16 unless you hear or see it slowing. I am working with them to create a better lubrication scheme based on actual test data. For now, I recommend my schedule, and purchasing via Amazon for protecting against the odd premature failure.

@@TargetForgecan you pls answer my second question.
@TargetForge
@TargetForge 9 ай бұрын
I'm not sure why you feel it needs to be one way or the other. We use the word grease for a thick bodied lubricant. Fat refers to animal tissue. Too much, or excessive lubrication is a problem, AND too little is a problem. Too much lubricant and airflow is obscured or the cylinder becomes hydraulically locked. Too little lubricant and the friction becomes excessive and seals stop working. I have advocated what I think the correct amount of lubrication is.
@ThePredator2k
@ThePredator2k 9 ай бұрын
@@TargetForge in German Grease translates in "Fett" :) thats why i wrote Fat. I asked today GX via Email as well and they say every 4-6h. And you 16 hm. I believe you when you say every 16h but at the same time i think when it brakes warranty will not cover because i had only used grease every 16h. I have no experience with this compressors at all. I was just a bit confused because you say if the motor gets slower than add grease. But i heard from GX when it slowsdown it is to much grease in. That is confusing me. You saying when the motor slows down, it needs grease. But GX saying when motor slows down it has too much grease. Oh man my english is not so good.
