Just bought one of these after my old ti83 died. Lots of functions so this video is very helpful as I get ready to study for some CLEP and SAT. Hoping to start college in a couple years and hoping this handheld serves me well for a good while

Just a heads up, a lot of math professors do not allow the inspire family of calculators to be used on exams due to their advanced functionalities. Might be worth getting a cheap scientific calculator that satisfies the bare minimum requirements (trig functions, basic graphing, matrix arithmetic, etc)

​@@BradleyG01Is this only referring to the CAS version or is the non-CAS version also not allowed? I was considering buying one, but now I'm not sure. I know that the non-CAS version is allowed on high school tests like SAT, ACT, IB, etc, but I wouldn't want to have to buy a new one after high school.

I just convinced my differential equations students to get the Nspire. I didn't really understand how to use it but knew it was the right choice. Essentially it is a TI-89 with a GUI plus goodies. I used an 89 for years so now I know much better how to use the NSpire. I am trying to get my students to watch the series. I hope they do.

The Ti 89 was really a child of the ti 92 line being a ti 92 + minus a qwerty keyboard. The Nspire series a whole new family further going closer to the realm of specialized computer.

You can also use the Teacher software as a powerful teaching and learning tool. Students often struggle at the introduction of a 'slope field' for example. Thank You!! I spent a year learning to use a TI-84 only to find out it wouldn't work for my calculus class so I'm on a crash course to learn where all the buttons are again.

We have tried to make the transition as easy as possible, there are many similarities. Check out the order of the window zoom settings ... mostly the same! Syntax is also the same wheverever possible. Now just add in typical Windows short cuts such as Ctrl C, Ctrl V, Ctrl Z (sooo good) ...

i really want one of the cx/cx ii's but damn is it hard to find one here in canada and even on the used american market, there's barely any cx ii's. cx's are there though

OFF is written above the ON key, so press Control followed by ON. It is good to turn it off rather than wait for it to turn off. (hybernate).

Based on what you have described, you have a TI-Nspire CX II, not TI-Nspire CX II CAS. CAS = Computer Algebra System.

How do I disable? The touchpad is extremely annoying I’m trying to navigate through the whole menu and the mouse touchpad activating randomly any delays my navigation process.

Phone = Distractions. Students associate phone with social media and cannot resist them temptation. [See: Atomic Habits - James Clear]. Phone = Wireless. They are not permitted in examinations Phone = Costs a lot more and depreciation is much greater. Second hand TI calculators typically sell for 50% of their original price 6+ years after their purchase, equating to less than $20 per year. So many more reasons ...

All these look cool but before I spend 200€ I kinda want to see the calculations (Normal calculator, graph, geometry) being used on the calculator itself not the computer. If I could bring my pc to an exam I wouldn't need a calculator
