Nepotism is literally when you get access into an industry because of a powerful relative (often a parent or uncle/aunt) with connections and influence in that industry. She was just a talented kid on youtube whose vocal talent got her noticed. Not to mention she was already a child actress getting cast in roles since age 6 without connections in the industry, so not nepotism at all.

@@gigireve943 Do you know the MAJORITY of Hollywood actors and actresses were either born into wealthy homes and/or connections to the Hollywood industry? Even if Beyoncé did open the door, Halle still had to nail her audition to walk through it! Why single her out over other people-like Justin Timberlake, Jessica Simpson, Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya, The Jenner Sisters, The Hadid Sisters-the list goes on and ON. Hollywood auditions aren’t fair. Most of the time, auditions are held just as a formality. They already know the main people for roles they have their eyes on. The everyday world works the same way. From doctors down to retail employees! My very first job I received in life was because someone older than me knew a few people who worked there and helped me get an interview-but I still had to make sure I did well on the interview and proved I could do what was required of me to receive the job. America runs off of nepotism and cronyism-even in politics. More often than not, the people who benefit from it have no more talent/skill than the person who didn’t have the connections. It’s not fair, but that’s just how it works, unfortunately. At least in Halle’s case, she is super talented-unlike several others who are forced-fed to us in entertainment because of who their parents, grandfathers, or boyfriends are.
