Did some fiddling with the build, and if you remove one of the collector limpet controllers, switch the advanced docking for a supercruise assist, and then set auto-field maintenance unit to priority 2 (with everything else 1), you won't have to disable modules or think about them. Slightly higher jump range and doesn't really change much other than not having to deal with the modules. Nice build.

I used to run lightweight armour on my combat Corvette (hey, it was cheap!) until I realised it was little better than a sheet of tinfoil. Fortunately I used to run away once my shields reached about 20%
@shadowmystery56133 ай бұрын
To be fair, if you know how to fly your shields should never drop that low. Ever since I started fighting without Flight Assist I never had my shields down again, not even in High Intensity Combat Zones and those ships are much more advanced in stats than your average pirate. Only thing to take into account is engineered ships with effects that can bypass your shields, this could get dangerous.

Two things: 1) Swap the docking computer for a super cruise assist or swap the AFMU for one. Learn what the super cruise assist trick is. For HGE farming wasting so much time on deceleration due to not having super cruise assist trick available is painful. 2) If you want, swap one of the size 5 collectors for a 3B operations limpet controller which gives you 4 limpets, so 1 more than the size 5. That being said, you likely don’t get much benefit beyond 11 collectors since HGEs spawn on the order of 30-40 items total anyway, so 3-4 trips for anything above the 11 range regardless. Oh also, unrelatedly, iirc you were running size 1 mines for farming raw mats. That opens you up to being able to use the type-8, since it can’t equip more than one flak launcher. Less max jump range than an anaconda but in exchange much faster SCO handling. Mostly helpful for the HGEs though can help a bit for the raw mat planets I guess. Definitely personal preference though. P.S. For your ship build, if you can please include an EDSY link too. Coriolis has finally been updated recently, but EDSY is both more accurate and has a better track record for not being abandoned and never updated. Iirc Coriolis still doesn’t even have most pre-engineered modules for example.

Question if I may. In the past meaning prior to the new enginerring and material's update. If and when doing mission's, they when choosing the mat's as a reward, were subject to receving only the exact number of mat's offered. Where as locating them while deliberately hunting for them, one would get three for each single they found. After the update, mission's now offer more mat's, but it's still only the exact number offered. My question is, when deliberately hunting mat's which when found use to give three to one. Does the new update increase the number one finds, where as it use to be any where from on to five, giving one only three to fifteen. Or do the number of mat's still the same meaning one to five, but one get more than the three to one ratio one use to get. It make's a difference in the number of limpet's and the size of the controler one need's. One is forced to choose, from their available empty slot's from the various controler's available. Gettng more than 3 to one, would be far better than having to retrieve more single's. When one doesn't have a slot large enough for the controler needed for increased duration, number's available simotainiously, and the variety of different distance's. Example, when entering a emission one use to or could be presented with a small number of mat's, say 4, retrieving them one got 12. Thus my question actually is, do the same number of mat's show up, but the ratio has increased to being more than three to one. Or are there just simply more that the usual 4, meaning there's now say 8.

grade C collector limpet controllers have even less mass and power draw with a control range that is still in excess of 1KM.
@KalidhoS2 ай бұрын
ok 2 things. 1) You can farm the same emission multiple times if you have enough time left. You enter it, collect everything, then while still inside you exit to main menu, logout and log back in (don't exit to desktop, just logout), you'll find the emission you just farmed just behind your ship, you do a 180 and enter again, it's gonna be super close like a few Mm, repeat the process until the time on the emission runs out, then it will disappear and you'll have to find another one, it's allowed by Frontier in case you're wondering if it's an exploit, it's not you can google it, been doing it since forever (over 1200 hours in game) 2) have they buffed the amount of materials you can find in every emission??? Dude I'm bamboozled, last time I did my farm (8 or so months ago) every emission had max 5 or 6 materials, you find like 20 in each that's NUTS! Is this a new thing?
@Foxyloxy.X2 ай бұрын
Thanks for the first tip, and yes they did buff that HGE not by a small amount, every place I can get about 100 grade 5
@guhak2 ай бұрын
The Type-8 update (they started naming updates now) which came out like… August 7th? I wanna say? Includes an engineering rebalance. I think you’d be served well to read up on it. Biggest tl;dr is missions give any type of engineering material now as a reward, and the “meta” strats for manufactured and encoded (HGEs and Jameson crash) got buffed to make it so you don’t need to relog anymore, you just fill up to max from one run (potentially two for Jameson but you’ll be stupid close to 100 from the first run). Raws got buffed for crashed anacondas, but otherwise remain the same with brain trees and flak launchers being the fastest to fill up from 0 on.

I get tons of manufacturing/data & material assets doing afk pirates.. also the rewards for the pirate missions give a lot of these items.. I leave a weight on my limpet button when my ship is afk doing pirates.. I get away using a 6c shield doing pirates if I stick to lvl 5 threat level or lower if AFK.. just a bit busy when I first show up to park my ship there..

Trading for Biotech Conductors? That is not the move my guy, but you do you. I'm probably preaching to the choir but whatever. Those and Exquisite Focus Crystals, Modified Embedded Firmware, etc. are so easy to get because they're mission rewards. I typically use them to trade for stuff like Pharmaceutical Isolators. Just pick your choice of mission type you want to run in a system where you have all the factions at max reputation and you're swimming in them. I'd say the lowest effort is running passenger missions in a system like Robigo for example. Alternatively you can do assassinations or massacres if combat's more your thing, takes longer but it's more fun. Digging that website though, I hadn't heard of it before. That'll make HGE farming more palatable, even if I already did the manual legwork on my own and found systems that reliably have certain mats almost all the time.

Out of curiosity, have you played at all since the type-8 update in august? Or checked materials in that time? …because now ALL materials drop in mission rewards and ironically the old mission exclusive rewards are now the *hardest* ones to get as their drop table got diluted while all the other rewards spawn at 100-per instance for manufactured, and jameson cross trading for encoded.
