• Crossover protection with added check valves to the disposable cartridge. This reduces cleaning time when difficult crossovers occur.
(1:19) Disassembly:
• Air cap: The new heavy-duty air caps are made from stainless steel vs. aluminum ones in older models, which are much more durable.
• Cartridge (the disposable piece): Contains side seals, cartridge assembly, springs and other pieces like that within it. Not meant to be taken apart, but to be replaced or thrown in solvent for a potential fix.
• New Chromex™ coated mix chamber: 3-piece design (more durable and heavy duty), has a roll pin that holds two pieces together. Not meant to be taken apart, it’s one part number. Built to last longer than other mix chamber designs.
• New fluid housing: Holds cartridge assembly.
• Handle: Same handle, air piston and everything else that you’re used to from the handle of the air purge gun. New retrofit kit comes with an additional piece to add to older gun handles.
If you have the handle already (from the older Air Purge Gun), you only need to buy the retrofit system kit and assemble it onto your current handle.
Removing a cartridge that is full of foam:
Graco added unique outlets to allow this new Graco foam sprayer cartridge to come out fast and easy.
(4:10) The new Fusion PC gun has a flat-head screwdriver slot for easier disassembly when the chamber is stuck.
Worst case scenario: There is also a built-in screw at the bottom of the handle (a 5/6th nut driver opens this nozzle). Thread this into the hole in the cartridge and it will pry the cartridge out.
(6:39) Reassembly:
Thread on a new retrofit kit with the mix chamber and cartridge. Then, thread on the retaining ring and screw in the air cap.
(7:37) Cartridges: easy to use and replace, available in 3 and 5 packs.
