Bought the H2 original about 20 years ago and have carried it in my guitar gig bag since then, recording 1000s of small gigs and to use as a backup when using higher level gear. One of the best values of anything I’ve ever purchased. these new features seem fantastic! Yet the 20 years old device still work perfectly! Going to buy one.. and now, what to do with the 20 year old that is still perfectly functioning?

Nice! Always loved the H2n but the sd card slot was ridiculously fragile and mine broke after about 15 months of use, rendering an otherwise perfect recorder useless. I hope the new versions sd card slot has been toughened up?!

When it will be available in Europe?

Reading the manual, this seems to actually be a six channel recording device. Hey Zoom, can you confirm the recorded channel configuration?
@laflamme77823 ай бұрын
Most likely 2x stereo separated files and 1x stereo mixdown, so 6 channels?
@Ozpeter3 ай бұрын
@@laflamme7782 I have the feeling from the manual that it could be one stereo mix file (which can be turned off if not wanted) and one four channel file representing front and rear stereo. I'm just going by how the file names are shown in the manual. Then there are multiple internal export options if you don't want to do that in a DAW. You can normalize if you want and choose sampling frequencies and so on. Of course when creating raw ms files the scheme is adjusted appropriately. My impression is that it is all as flexible and comprehensive as possible. I hope we get official clarification of all this before it becomes available.

I've waiting for this new model of H2! I hope it doesn't have so much internal noise.

Take easy, Zoom. I still dreaming with the R4 for the last year. My heart won't stand such beautys

With an external mic connected, does it disable the internal?
@ZoomSoundLab2 ай бұрын
With a 3.mm mic connected you can use that and the Front mic - however the rear mic will be deactivated.

If you release a new h3vr please makes sure it will have better frequency response (better bass, medium, highs), than actual model. (Even with same noise floor)

i'd trade my brand new barely used B3n box for a used but functioning regular B3 box.

@@satransitvideos let’s add that! I don’t care what cool new features you have. If your data is deleted you can’t do anything! Back up data is everything!

@bboymac84 I've lost important sound files when my H5's memory card wouldn't detect in Windows. I was away on holiday and started to panick if I had waited until I got back home they probably would of been readable on my desktop I've tried every piece of recovery software and unable to get those files back When I've done recording for the day now, I copy my (RAW recordings) in the wav format to my external SSD drive then I listen and sort and rename them to what I want and delete the ones that sound crap and then encode them to mp3 and put them on the NAS with the original. wav file to go with it Cloud Storage is quite cheap these days Google Drive is about $12.99AUD for 2TB and Dropbox is around the same price that's a good option aswell.

The r4 is not the easiest to use
@G_handle3 ай бұрын
Does it still record 4-way. To use for Front-LR & Rear-LR. Looks like it lost it's most important feature!
@ZoomSoundLab3 ай бұрын
You can select both the front and rear stereo mics in 90º or 120º pickup patterns
@G_handle3 ай бұрын
@ZoomSoundLab okay but is it still an XY plus an MS set of Microphones? Do I still get two stereo files that can be split to 4 mono for a Front & Rear LR Quad. Like the H2n?
@Ozpeter3 ай бұрын
@@G_handle Reading the manual pdf from the Zoom site, it seems to be a 6 channel device! It records front stereo, rear stereo, and mix at the same time, separately. Or it can record the front rear and side sources as raw ms, plus the mix. In other words it does everything. The external mics record to the rear stereo channel. Please, Zoom, am I right? If so, you really should be emphasizing this setup.
