Apple is such a rip-off. Ever since Steve Jobs passed away, there has been little to no innovation. They just sell the same product year after year making little changes. The iPhone X is the first phone where Apple did something new, but instead they just copied other manufacturers. Apple is a dying brand to be honest.

John Swan meaning they don’t know the meaning of the word “dedicated”. The home button wasn’t a dedicated Siri button because it did lots of other stuff. It’s the same with the side button. It’s not even remotely like the Bixby button was which really was a dedicated Bixby button. Just because you can activate Siri with the side button doesn’t mean that’s all the side button does. Yet every fandroid acts like that’s what it is because they can’t defend the Bixby button, so they try to bring the iPhone down to their level.

I understand where you're coming from but I think I should clear up a few things. 1. Not every Android fan defends the Bixby button; only the die-hard Samsung fans do. The Android fanbase is a lot bigger than just Samsung. There are numerous other companies that have their own separate fanbases including Huawei, LG, Motorola, HTC, Google, Sony, Oneplus and Xiaomi. Most Android users HATE the Bixby button, myself included. Therefore it's a bit unreasonable to say that 'every fandroid' tries to defend the Bixby button. 2. Although Samsung is really trying to push Bixby, to their credit they have stopped breaking the Bixby button remaps via 3rd party applications since May. Hopefully it becomes a native part of Samsung OS very soon. 3. I agree, the home button was not a dedicated Siri button because it did much more than that. However, on the iPhone X, most of the commands usually performed by the home button were replaced with gestures. Except Siri. So, they had to use another button to activate Siri. While I'm sure that the side button does much more than just activate Siri, Apple is not marketing it that way. 4. To be the devil's advocate for a second, the side button on the iPhone X is really no different to the Bixby button on the S8/Note 8 after you install an app. They both, by default link to their virtual assistant and they can both be remapped to different apps and functions. I have a friend with the S8 and after I told him that Samsung stopped breaking the remaps, he said that the extra button became quite useful. He remapped it to take a screenshot I think, which I would find invaluable as I take many, many screenshots 😂 However, I did make a bit of a blunder when I said 'dedicated.' This ENTIRE script was completely impromptu, so regrettably I did not fact check everything.

John Swan well at the very least you had a calm thoughtful response vs what most people write. So just for a bit of background (I get your point about not all android fans defending picking) specifically on the iPhone. Apple is marketing as the “side button”. It’s normal action (just clicking it) is sleep/wake, same as it used to be. Some of the home button features are gestures and some went to the side button like screenshots. (Vol up and side) or shut down (vol down and side) If you double click it it activates Apple Pay. The only thing it has to do with Siri is if you long press it it activates Siri. But since “Hey Siri” (using your voice to activate it) is always on, they only really talk about that. They don’t really talk about using the side button for it. The reason it’s even an option is so that if you’re in a situation where it’s not appropriate to talk to your phone, or if it’s just easier for you, you have the option of holding down the side button and typing or talking to Siri. It can’t be remapped to other stuff but that’s because Apple wants any person to pick up any iPhone and already know what every button does. Samsung pushed the Bixby button as doing nothing but activating Bixby. And when it launched it didn’t even do that it only launched Bixby cards. Then people tried to get around it but they kept breaking it. It’s only now that there’s been a huge backlash against it that things are changing. I’m not trying to diss the Bixby button. It’s just a different philosophy. I’m just saying it bugs me when people call the side button on an iPhone a Siri button as if it’s the same situation. Know what I mean? It would be like if I said some button on your phone was “basically a dedicated google assistant button” just zero truth in that.

Tell me, where did you get the background music from the "Introducing the iPhone X" video in such a high quality and without Jony Ive's vocals? Hey, sorry for the late reply! I used the Center Channel Extractor on Adobe Audition to remove the vocals and used Anwida Soft Reverb on Audacity to add some extra reverb to make it sound more 'full.' If you want, I can upload the full song without Jony Ive's vocals for you... Let me know!

You know, I stand corrected, I would probably invest 1575 AUD/1000 GBP/1000 USD into a mobile handheld device. BUT it'd have to be really good. A $1000 mobile device should : - be fully user serviceable - that means standard T5 or T3 screws - have 5000+mAh 7.2V removable battery which is easily available - have at least 4 USB 2.0/3.0, ethernet, eSATA, displayport - have DC jack which accepts multiple voltages - have an onboard ADC/DAC with quad XLR inputs and phantom power - have +4dBu/-10dBV switch and balanced audio out, combined with 3 stereo outs through 3.5mm sockets - have 256GB M.2 removable storage - have 16GB of LPDDR4-2166 - be fully unlocked, rooted and with readily available drivers - be compatible with all popular linux distributions and Windows ARM And it's hard to imagine even single of those points being fulfilled by iPX.

Half of those points have nothing to do with computing power, but with having some value in the product. Serviceability is a key aspect for product lifespan, especially removable battery. Extra ports further enhance the use cases of the phone with FOSS approach being the driving aspect. Open source design and user serviceable/removable parts.

Actually augmented reality can be used to measure things with your camera and it’s actually very accurate and the most it will be off by is 2 inches (in my experience with it)

Samsung has stopped breaking the Bixby remaps since May. To be honest, I'm not even a huge fan of Samsung; I prefer Huawei phones. But even though Samsung has an extra unremappable on on the side, it's still better than paying for a A$1575 for a phone without a fingerprint sensor, without a headphone jack and with that super ugly black bar.

1. Yes, the Note 8 is pretty much the same price, bit it is a MASSIVE phone with a stylus. Even without the notch, the Note 8 still has a 0.4% higher screen-to-body ratio because of the curved screen. The iPhone X is much worse value for money. 2. The Air-Power pad that I referred to is rumoured to start at $199. So, I was correct in my prediction. 3. The information to why Face ID failed was only made public after I made this parody so there is no way that I could have known. Hope this helps to clear up some things :)
