Yeah, special ordered a Virtus over a year ago, my FFL was constantly told by Sig sales reps that it was going to be pushed back a few months, then a year, all the while they knew damn well they weren’t going to fulfill that order because they were discontinuing the Virtus line. They didn't bring it back. I waited 6 years for a 762×39 conversion for my gen 1. Sig kept saying next year, next year,next year. I bought a 11" PWS upper and sold the stupid MCX (5.56) for a very high price during the pandemic.

Thank you. It's great to see Sig stuff that will virtually never be on the shelf to buy......... Honestly, when was the last time you saw a sig Virtus (11.5' or 16') on the shelf in the past 6 years... Out of the 5 local shops (more that one is a Sig premium dealer) I have only seen 1 Virtus (16') and a 2 300BO Rattlers....total...in 6 years. Don't get me wrong, I want one, I just don't know how to get one........... (other than GunBroker for $$$$$$$$) Only KZbinrs get these types of things in the first few years........

Aside from pricing, just quality wise this is probably the best a civilian can get. Absolutely amazing there are people out there that can rock their Sig 226 and this and MCX spear LT. Wild stuff

Just buy a PWS upper for $1300, and maybe a Dead foot folding(brace/stock). The PWS is the best 762×39 platform. Got really tired of Sig telling me they were going to release a 762×39 conversion "next year". Next year never came, sold the gen1 MCX for a mint during plandemic.

That’s what the MCX Spear is for. You’ll be get it in the inferior 308 if you want to stick to that caliber (nothing wrong with that) or it’s intended .277

Can we see the BCG? The Virtus used a classic short-stroke piston that works amazingly, but I noticed the big boy Spear has a SCAR-style BCG that makes the recoil feel dramatically worse for the same performance.

@@jackbylsma1816 6.8 SPC never really took off. Also the majority of NATO countries still use 5.56mm. You’re not going to get all those countries to switch to 6.8. The majority of hostile countries still use 7.62x39. This Sig MCX LT makes perfect sense for an M4 replacement.

Honestly this rifle makes more sense in 6.8, 6.5 Grendel, 6mm arc, something like those. Makes some sense in .300 blk in a 9 inch barrel. The .300 blk, 5.56, and 7.62x39 markets are saturated at lower prices.

@@garand80 every real ar15 owner is buying 6.5grendel or 6arc. Every manufacturer of ammo produces 6.5grendel. And seeing as grendel has been adopted militarily. And been around for 20years. It's more popular today than ever. They are going no where. Over 50 manufacturers make 6.5grendel ammo. Remington. Hornady. Ppu. Sellior and bellot. Federal. Wolf Barnaul nosler. Leigh high. And more make 6.5grendel. if ur still using a inferior round ur a fudd stuck in the past. Remember the cartridge makes the rifle. 556 is a varmint cartridge. Always has been.

I walked into my local Gun Shop recently and they were clearancing out the remainder of the Spear LTs they had. SIG dropped 19 of them on the store and they had 6 left marked at 250 below MSRP. Grabbed a 11.5 in 556 and im glad i did. My only gripe is the brace and how it spins around. Very annoying. Bought an adaptor from Custom Smith Products and threw on a tailhook. Problem solved! Its a Tack Driver!

because an mlok qd adapter is like 5 bucks and isn't really inferior at all... Most people including myself run a qd mount further out on the handguard of our MCX and don't use the one by the mag well.

Order yourself a PWS 11.5 long stroke piston upper and a Deadfoot folding stock/brace. I am 55yrs old and have been buying PWS for years. The bolts and extractors never brake. I also like the recoil impulse better (5.56 MCX vs 5.56 PWS). I sold my MCX during the pandemic after Sig promising a 762×39 conversion year after year.

Is there a time frame of when we can get the spear lt lowers by themselves? I dont want to convert my ar, I rather have the Sig lower with ambi controls So I can have my regular ar, and my Spear lt platform but its easier to buy in sections plus I like to put together eventually myself, plus black lt lowers would be nice, and a coyote same as the upper having a coyote,and black option
