What would be a GREAT idea for Behringer to do would be to make a new 4 track tape recorder (like tascam porta one). Everyone is dying to buy used tape recorders nowdays but you must be more than lucky to find a functional one in a reasonable price. No other company is doing this right now. Behringer PLEASE 🙏🙏❤️

@Jesus Is SATAN Newer Behringer products are nothing like their stuff from the past. I've owned a ton of Behringer stuff over the years and the quality has improved DRASTICALLY in the last few years. The build and sound quality of newer Behringer stuff is on par with just about any other company (or better) and the prices are affordable enough that just about anyone can indulge. I own and have owned hundreds of pieces of gear from various manufacturers over the years and there's nothing that worries me about this new Behringer stuff, and some of the originals that have been cloned had shitty build quality to begin with... SH-101, Pro One, TR-606, TB-303, Wasp, etc. If anything these newer ones are even more robust.

I didn't know this synth was in that song. Do you know if they also used it extensively on Little Dark Age? I get a feeling that they used modular a bunch on their self-titled, and maybe a Synthi AKS (or similar) in Congratulations, because the poster that comes with the physical versions of Congratulations has a Synthi AKS with... straw and bird eggs. Yes, they displayed one of the most rare and expensive vintage synths out there as a bird's nest. These guys know how to troll, lol.

I want to start by say that I’m more than impressed with the ‘rebranding you guys have done that is geared toward musicians who have always wanted gear that we can’t afford or find. I get the need to release the information and teaser videos but the products are not becoming available within a reasonable time frame following announcements or these videos that are becoming torturous to watch. I find myself checking EVERYDAY to see when the RD-9 is coming and all the other units that have been announced or demoed. I’m realized that I’m checking your ‘news’ more than I’m reaching out to family during a global pandemic. This is crazy! Most of us have probably set aside the money to purchase the units we want the most and I’ve been passing up on gear that would probably be beneficial to my work bt I continue to hold out for you guys. Shipping has not slowed down that much and this has been the case over the course of the entire year. Do us right Behringer, you already have a new found respect and you’re killing it. We love you for it! Don’t f**k it up! I’m almost ready to walk away out of frustration and put my money on something else and not because they are available or better. I almost get this feeling like I’m being brainwashed from all the marketing. I’m one person but I’m sure there are thousands of people like me. I saw the leak for the patent application on the MonoPoly a while ago and I was so excited and still am. The original is my favorite synth that I’ve had a chance to put my hands on. I haven’t been able to justify buying a used unit for what they sell for these days. I have been looking forward to this and still have hope for the RD-9. Thank you for all your hard work but pleeeeeeease 🖤⚡️✊🏻🥂

@@mpmi7588 I don´t have original Moog, but Studio Electronics SE1X and built a mini-like from AJH Modules. The Mono/Poly is a different beast, the overal tonal quality is different and is ideal for places in the mix where moogish stuff may not be perfect (and vice versa!). The 4 OSC round robin is mode is a bomb for 4/4 16th sequencer lines and then we didn´t even get started with all the modulation options. Peek into videos about the original, you may find something to like. I think moogish and korgish are made to coexist. And about too many mono voices... how big can an orchestra be? How many different voices are in there? And you don´t have to use all of them all the time.
@Psychlist1972
@Psychlist1972 4 жыл бұрын
@@mpmi7588 It's quite different in sound, especially once you get into the cross modulation, or arpeggiating across four different oscillators. The Sub37 and Grandmother are great Moog synths, but this sounds, feels, plays, and acts differently from those. Whether or not that's important to you is for you to decide, of course. Do check out Mono/Poly videos here on YT to get a feel for it. I assume the Behringer will sound similar enough to that that those videos will be relevant to your decision.

The Mono/Poly was my first analogue synth back in 1992. Everyone who tried it fell in love with it - even a pair of friends who had previously been synth hating metalhead guitarists. 1 whole year later, and finally got mine last week in the US. For $699 this thing is a beast at 28lbs or so! Def would suggest a keyboard stand! Had to move my 61 note mini keyboard to get it on the desk. You do not want this on a flimsy surface at all! Only thing I had to do out the box...Turn the filter up from 8khz or so to 20khz. And also Tune the master a bit, then the other 4 VCOs. Out the box VCO 1 and VCO 4 were off on tuning. Took 5 min to go in the back and grab the VCO offset to tune VCO1. Then went through the rest. Tested for drift across octaves, and not much of any. This is comparing to say the Model D, that I always have to tune and set up drift once a year internally. The Monopoly feels more premium, and yes the keys are very decent. This is a big buy you’ll be using a lot of! Sits in my tracks great doubling, using my API 512C pre. Makes the other Behringer synths I have, and yes the Korg MS20 mini feel like toys.

Honestly I’m no question a Drummachine junkie. Synthesizers have and will always play second fiddle to my passion for Beatmakers. But I don’t see the logic for your enthusiasm towards a clone of a digital rom based Drum machine.... is it purely interface/Wflow based or what am I missing? Bc it seems to me a sampled og linndrum who’s sounds I then throw into my Machinedrum is far more fun. And since they are rom sounds already essentially the exact same? Right
@pkarvo
@pkarvo 4 жыл бұрын
@@nickdaniel6833 Likely if you are saying sampling in a digital daw (all be it with an NI controller) is the same as a Linn or DMX, dude you clearly have never owned a Linn or DMX. It is a world of difference. If you sample single hits of a classic Rompler and then sequence it all in a computer, then compare to the non-linearity and vintage DA pleaseing artifactness of a LINN/DMX sequence you will instantly get it, the latter is so much more musical and full of life, the DAW is sterile and digital sounding in comparison. Sure you can process it with a bunch of plugins and make it sound like better but still it won't compete if you're after that vintage and 'musical' sound that doesnt need a ton of processing to cut throught the mix and eb and flow. However workflow wise they are dated but if you have a midi mod you could sequence it with a maschine or Push and have best of both worlds.
@MCBrainpower

@@pkarvo Exactly. I owned a LinnDrum and have worked with many of the classic drum machines. I also met Roger Linn, went to a master class he did with Dave Smith, and have studied a number of his (Linn's) machines. I have to say I was never a fan of clones, but after experiencing what Behringer (amongst a few others) is (are) currently doing I am completely sold. Especially since I know what can go into owning (and/or having owned) vintage synths and machines.
@MCBrainpower

@@nickdaniel6833 I have owned and worked on the OG LinnDrum, and many other machines, I have used sounds I recorded directly from / with the OG LinnDrum, using them directly in my DAW, as well as then programming with a controller... - I have worked with samples (in all kinds of packs, fakes and the real deal, as well as different sounding samples of the real Linn and Oberheim machines - but nothing beats programming the actual OG LinnDrum. There is a reason Prince said there is nothing like the way his playing locks in with the timing / clock of the LM-1 (the machine that came before the LinnDrum). This has to do with the magic Roger Linn created, and / or maybe the ghost in the machine. The question is, will Behringer be able to recreate this magic in their eventual clone. I think they can come very close, or hopefully nail it 100%

Check out Aly James Vprom - it's the only one which gets the lo-fi effect of the samples right. Any other sampler won't give you the effect of the playback engine of the original linns
