Can I ask a simple and potentially stupid question: What is the difference between this and the Poly D? Is it the filter? They seem like two clones of similar mono/paraphonic synths.
@TooSlowTube3 жыл бұрын
The Poly D is based on the Moog MiniMoog Model D circuit, plus one extra VCO, and the MonoPoly is based on the Korg MonoPoly, so there are some differences, including the filter, but they are broadly similar too.
@armandoruizmartinez48483 жыл бұрын
One difference is that the Poly D has a sequencer built in. Sound wise they can achieve a few similar sounds but the biggest differences are the sounds they both uniquely are able to create, that and some filters. I hope that helps.

@Xul3 жыл бұрын
@@cnfuzz I'd agree that the presets are a bit overloaded with FX. But on the other hand you don't really have to rely on those presets (they are way too many anyways, only having 20% of thebetter ones would have been enough). But I won't complain about such a strong effects section that I'd otherwise pay in 6 units of "stomper box currency". I was very glad not having to constantly carry my H9 from my main music room to another room where I have the DM6 for those moments when you just want to jam for yourself without going to your whole gear. As for the "thin" sound: I wouldn't phrase it that way. Sure, it might not be on the levels of a Peak/Summit, but it is also half the price so I didn't expect that. But In general I was quite surprised how fat even the cheapo DM6 sounded. For Bass sounds I even prefer it to my BassStation II a lot of the times (which was the only comparable real analog I have at home). The more I hear all those "analog warmth and fatness" claims the more I get disillusioned - most of the time I can't really hear that dramatic differences. I'd say all of my hardware synths (granted, most are digital: i have a Nord Wave 2, blofeld, BSII, DM6 ... and a Buzzy next to my Digitakt ;) ) have such a broad range from disappointingly thin to impressivly fat sounds that I don't even care anymore what type of synth it actually is - because it basically is so much more depending on the patch, the mixing and other factors (like my shitty playing ;) ).
