sigma is killin it! I have Minolta lenses but I'm going to get the 24-70 ii and the 70-200 ii in the upcoming years. The Minolta primes stay, 3d pop shall never be gone with me!

The o.g 24-70 art is the only zoom lens I own and it's great. I was considering trading it in for a mk.2 but reconsider at the last second. Just couldn't let go.

Does it work automatically with Sony's steady shot? Or do you have to enter the focal length manually to use steady shot?

Does it matter compared to the mk 1 I don’t mind a slower focus I used it and thought it was great! What concerns me is the overall weight of both lenses if it’s a significant difference then I’ll consider otherwise I’ll get the mk 1 for the low

If you find you rely heavily on autofocus, I think so! Those linear focus motors are just so much faster. The 100g in weight savings is also huge!

aside from whats mentioned it has a de-clickable aperture ring and a second fn button but not any sharper. my info is based on a comparison video from gerald undone

Faster af? Looks about the same. The af in the mk1 is good, a 24-70 doesnt require blazing fast af to begin with and it is already fast. Optically the same. 100g lighter? Nobody will notice that difference. I hope this is just their way of improving an existing lens for the same prize and not a "newer more expensive" release.
