I noticed the interior recording was in black & white, is that the IR sensors kicking in or am I missing something? The IR sensor was the only thing I can think of. I could change it from black & white to color on my N4, but I don't know if there is a way to switch on N5.

Is this better than the N-5-4 ? On Amazon they have a Nexus 5 and a N-5-4 are these the same? Amazon sellers sometimes list things oddly…..

You can always flip the view on the rear camera so you can have the cable where you want it. You flip it in the settings.

will this camera work without the hardwire kit, what if i dont want to get into opening brand new car panels and exposing wiring inside..since the kit is optional wondering what features wont work without it!

Parking protection wont work. It has to be hard wired to protect the car when you are away.

Does fitting dash cam drains car battery? I needs 24 hours full recording. What should I do?

Mine is set for motion so it starts up every time a car or person goes by, regardless of which camera triggers the motion. The distribution block has a switch for the minimum voltage for it to stop recording, I had a power drain that was a trailer brake converter so it’s good to check for parasitic drain if you find yours isn’t able to get all the recording you want. This pulls like 10mA so it’s within range. I can usually get about two days of recording before the unit starts recording over old material. There are options to lock the videos, take photos, and it will record automatically for collisions/bad roads like we have here.

Just got it hard wired. When I click on the orange button? Does it start recording then? Or is it always recording? I feel like a boomer because I can’t figure out how to use it 😭
