Very nice option. I will seriously reconsider now installing the canopy release.

Is it a possibility to not install it? I don't have a kit/the plans but always thought it was just a necessary part of the build...
@morkbov2 жыл бұрын
@@haydenm.3912 Yes you can ignore its installation. However, I strongly recommend to build the whole system but without the handle in case you sell the plane to someone else.

I love it. Is there any plans to release these kits for the RV7 or other models?

Any videos of the actual use of the handle?

There’s alot of Vans aircraft flying. Has any Vans aircraft ever intentionally jettisoned a canopy? What about unintentionally? What were the results?

Is there a way to add a safety pin so say a child isn’t able to accidentally pull it?
@FlyVansAircraft2 жыл бұрын
There is a metal clip included that will allow a retention wire to be installed, which attaches to the handle and requires one to pull hard before the handle will disengage from its seated/closed position. The details are in the OP-68 instructions document (see pages 6-7), which is available on the Van's website: www.vansaircraft.com/service-information-and-revisions/op-63/

How hard is this going to be to install in a completed plane?
@EJWash572 жыл бұрын
I like it, and will order one for my build. Although, the pull handle should be RED.

Red plastidip or similar material can work wonders. :)

@@FlyVansAircraft I'll looking that - thanks! Didn't know there was such a treatment.
