Introducing the Toulmin Model

This video features the Toulmin logic model used to plan arguments for the research-argument paper. Students learn the qualities of the model, and then they work through several of their own examples.

to make a 1000 word argumentative essay would require how many warrants and claims of the Toulmin model?

You cannot base the number of warrants and claims on the length of the composition. First, if you are writing a unified argument essay, you would probably focus on one claim. Second, the number of warrants is never determined (besides needing at least one). You could develop a lengthy essay on a single warrant or diversify your argument with several. It depends on the issue being explored.
