Toronto Food Stories is an art residency in collaboration with Black Creek Community Farm, Malvern Urban Farm, Emmett Avenue Community Garden and Healing As One that bridges artists, food growers and organizers to share the stories of the people and movements that are transforming our food system, bringing us closer to realizing our right to food, and ultimately achieving food sovereignty in our city.
Four artists from different ends of the city are immersed in food-justice related learning through workshops, site visits and hands-on experiences with organizations in their neighbourhoods. Together, we’re using the art-making process to consider the urgent crisis of food insecurity in Toronto, and turn attention towards community-driven approaches to defending our food rights.
Stay locked in to meet the artists and find out more about what we’ve been up to over the past few months.
