Introducing Turtle, the blue point Siamese kitten

Turtle was adopted with her friend Mini!
Turtle is a beautiful 4 month old blue point Siamese kitten available for adoption through Specialty Purebred Cat Rescue (purebredcatrescue.org). She was abandoned on the streets, trapped and brought to a shelter, and is now in a foster environment where she finally feels safe, and she has really started to come out of her shell! Turtle will need a nice slow introduction to her new home, but her loving friendship once she feels safe is well worth the patience!

She looks exactly like our little kitten celery who we found at a dumpster blind and flea infested. we kept her 16 years until diabetes took her from us. We have her sister pusssette , Who will be 19 this October. They sure can capture our hearts!

My cat is also named Luna:) (I know your comment is 3 years old) She is also from a shelter. She was found when she was about 1 year old. She is VERY scared of new people and when going towards her with a bag or some big object. She don't get carried around like a normal cat. We have to hold her almost like baby. But she is very kind and loving. She wants very much attention and she gets more than enough! I guess she has a traumatic past. So sad that it happens to animals too, often gets forgotten.

I heard from my mom that siamese are nasty. Every siamese I met was sweet and very vocal. And their blue eyes are adorable. Do all siamese have blue eyes? Cause I saw a few siamese cats with green or orange eyes. And they are definitely siamese

Not good for a cat rescue organization to only come to the aid of "purebred" cats. Especially since they are the ones that would probably be adopted anyway, without even trying.

It is okay to have different focuses for different rescue groups. Dog breed rescues are common, for example. Specializing makes it easier to connect animals with forever homes. Purebreds are a main focus for SPCR, but not the only one. SPCR's founder started the organization after seeing purebred cats so stressed in the shelter environment that they couldn't interact well with people, and consequently didn't get adopted. SPCR is completely a foster care organization. The cats relax in the foster homes and as a result are adopted out much faster and with less trauma. Also, many SPCR cats are mixed breed, and some are domestic cats with zero pedigree. All cats deserve a chance at a good home. Every cat adopted is one less in a shelter.

Kim Jong Il maybe it is a stupid name. She was pretty indifferent to what we called her. Adopters often rename their cats, so we enjoyed finding unusual names that set each cat apart, and that fit their personality. Turtle acted like a turtle sometimes, so it fit her. She remains the only Turtle we have fostered.
