this is so cool but man I was wishing that it would record internally.. because really the only benefit this has is that it goes straight into the hot shoe, but we'd have to completely rely on the signal to not lose connection, which would ruin any audio that may get cut off

Aw, I was hoping internal recording too. Nowadays with all the wifi, smartphones, radio signals, metal tables, even jewelery has made some interference on my jigs. Rode and Dji are solving our problems with internal recording, godox has just delivered internal recording plus Mi hotshoe connection. I would have loved to chose sony instead, but without internal audio recording professional shooting is not guaranteed

32bits are the new "more megapixels". Good preamps and a good limiter are more important than 32 bits.

If i didn't already have the wireless Go II 2 channel mics and the original Wireless Go with lavalier mics, and a Rodecaster Pro II paired with a Procaster mic and Rodecaster Duo paired with a Electro-Voice RE20 black edition, i would get this to use with my Alpha A7IV. It's obvious Sony is trying to catch up with offerings from Rode and DJI but i think they've missed the mark with no internal recording and 32-bit. They've even faced it in the lens market with Tamron, Samyang and Sigma undercutting Sony's expensive glass.

Non-32 bit means it is dead on arrival, unless is is significantly cheaper than DJI mics which are better audio quality judging by this video. The new Rode pro 2 is 32-bit. Sony keeps making these microphones but they usually sound horrible. Seems like a waste of R&D

Get over the 32bit infatuation, sony’s hot shoe is known to have a built in limiter, not having internal recording is the bigger issue. Not that hard to level your mics anyhow……

Never cheap out on audio equipment. I went with $100 usd audio gadgets before and they are terrible. From hissing sounds to disconnection just by rotating the 3.5mm and losing signal from 50 feet away. Rode and Sony charge premium prices for many reasons and quality is one of them.

I just bought mine and was wondering if anyone had the same problems as I did. 1. When I have the transmitter on the 'on' position and place it into the charging case, it will turn the transmitter off to charge. When I remove it from the charging case, it does not turn back on automatically. I have to flip the power 'off' then 'on' again for it to turn on. 2. When I have the receiver on the 'on' position and it is connected to a MI-compatible Sony camera (my camera is the ZVE1), when I turn off the camera the receiver stays on for a short amount of time then turn off. When I turn on my camera again, the unit does not turn on (even with the power switch set to the 'on' position). I have to flip the power 'off' then 'on' again for it to run on. My setting on the receiver is that I have it set to 'digital'
