Learn Japanese at the Japan Society Language Center!
For more than 30 years the Japan Society has provided Japanese language education of all levels.
Today, the Language Center offers 12 comprehensive levels of Japanese, as well as a variety of specialized courses and workshops including shodō (Japanese calligraphy), while also catering to native Japanese speakers by providing four levels of English conversation (ESL) classes and a Japanese Language Teacher Training Program. Classes are taught throughout the year, with semesters in the Spring and Fall as well as shorter, intensive courses at various times. Please visit us for more information and class schedules.
This introductory sample lesson covers eight basic greetings:
Good Morning - Ohayou (casual) gozaimasu (formal)
Good Afternoon - Konnichiwa
Good Evening - Konbanwa
Goodbye - Sayounara
Goodnight - Oyasumi nasai
Thank You - Arigatou (casual) gozaimasu (formal)
Excuse me, I'm sorry - Sumimasen
How do you do (nice to meet you) - Hajimemashite, dozo yoroshiku

I plan to move to Japan. I love the food, the culture, and cute little things they sell and such. I've been planning for about a month now and I decided to learn japanese young. That way I'll be extremely good when I move. I'm 14 right now. I plan to either do college there or here in the U.S, move to japan, find a well paying job that I enjoy, eventually convince a friend to move into an apartment with me, marry, move into a bigger apartment, raise a family and then travel the world. I know it's a lot to plan at such a young age but I feel that if you plan years before something you actually are devoted to it and stick to it.

Heres some tips that helped me. (I learned these by heart within a day) 1. Write these down. English phrase---> Japanese phrase. 2. Repeat them to yourself and quiz yourself 3. Tell them to a parent or friend, and have a SMALL conversation like have your mom or whatever say "how do you do" in japanese and reply with "goodnight" in Japanese. It's funny, and seems stupid but it genuinely helped me a lot. Hope this helps! Let me know if it did!

Diosep I’m here kinda cuz of anime, (but I’ve done this with another show that wasn’t in English, but it was Portuguese and idk it didn’t end up as interesting to me) but I was bored and on Duolingo and the letter system and stuff and the language actually interested me and I like being able to read a bunch of symbols that I used to have no idea what the heck they meant lol. Duolingo isn’t great for listening and I probably bad at speaking literally anything cuz I only whisper pronounce then forget lol
@bisexualbean2529
@bisexualbean2529 4 жыл бұрын
I’m here because I want to learn the language. I have family members that only speak Japanese, and it’s a bit annoying. Especially since my mom can speak it, but I can’t. Currently I’m looking into taking lessons. Originally I was actually going to move to Japan, but now I just think it’s best if i stay in the United States. Also I think that it is just cool to learn a new language... 😅 I wish luck to anyone who is trying to learn a language 😊
