Hi, Thank you for this. Btw, i want to ask your advise, how big the impact of mesh size in our simulation accuracy? how to choose the optimum mesh size if we would like to choose the smaller than proposed by NX?
@CADCAECAMTutorial4 жыл бұрын
Smaller meshing size have significant impact for simulation accuracy, but unfortunately it also impact with longer calculation time. But NX have automatic convergence test at the beginning calculation. This is to ensure you mesh correcty and the result will yield into one result value. If NX say the meshing convergence, then it will continue to calculate until finish. If NX found singularity or divergence, then NX will terminate with fatal error message. Once NX finish calculate and you review the result value is resonable, then you can resize meshing size a little bit smaller than before and do once or twice calculation again. The result accuracy acceptable and no need further step by make meshing smaller and smaller. Make meshing smaller only giye you a lot time to calculate but the result value will not much difference than before. Since it is already convergence, then the result will end to a one value. As an engineer we play with standard and Safety Factor. You can cover FEA result with safety factor. Since FEA have several assumption and idealization, please use safety factor based on engineering standard (ASME, DIN, JIS, etc.) for your design to cover any unpredictable load or condition that maybe applied to your design. FEA is a numerical method and it is always contain error no matter how small it is, therefore a specific standard always involved during design decision. This will make us as engineer work with responsible result and safe design.

@@CADCAECAMTutorial Thanks for your explanation...yup, it is clear...Agreed with you that by using safety factor as required by recognized international standard, would make our design can be accounted for safe design.

Hi, thank you for this !! your tutorial is really easy to follow and kind of detailed (atleast for a beginner). But I wanted to know if you check the mesh quality to see if there are any failed elements after creating the mesh.
@CADCAECAMTutorial5 жыл бұрын
Hi Sir. You're welcome. For your question, you can create meshing without any failed meshing quality by activating checkbox Auto Fix Failed Element on meshing window.

what is the meaning of max stress on the fixed boundary (compare the max stress on structure)in FEM simulation?
@adhithasimhanraghavan7516 Жыл бұрын
Usually, your max stress will appear at a fixed boundary as it typically undergoes the most strain. For eg, max stress at the centre of a simply supported beam is due to bending (kind of straining) and the one at constrained location is due to relative displacement of nodes which is caused by fixing certain nodes entirely.

The Solution Monitor didn't appears, could you tell me what's wrong? And about the fo6 and f04 file, after Solve, i could't find it in the folder. Please help !
@CADCAECAMTutorial4 жыл бұрын
If solution did not appear it means it not solve anything at all. That is why you do not have f06 and f04 files. Many possibilities about the cause : meshing problem, no material applied, no load or constraint applied. What NX version and Windows version you are using ?

Hi Clear tutorial But after solving nothing happens in my case I can’t find any results in my navigator Do you have any idea what might be wrong? I followed all your steps
@CADCAECAMTutorial5 жыл бұрын
Hi Sir. Do your NX show message window "No result are found" ? If yes it means your model are underconstrained. Please add more fixed DOF and solve again.
