At first glance studying human anatomy may appear very difficult. It's true that it's not simple and your studies will not change that. As for being overwhelming, this can be solved if you take your study one step at a time. I found an article on Sebs Study Crammer extremely helpful for this.

Sir at 5:50 during lecture there was a foot note that foot rotates in opposite direction to hip rotation I don't understand it plz clear my doubt
@thefunkyprofessor4 жыл бұрын
Hi There, thanks for your question. When the knee is bent at 90 degrees, if you rotate your hip outwards - external rotation, the whole foot moves inwards towards the midline. When your leg is straight and you externally rotate the hip, your toes point outwards, because the leg is straight. Hope that helps!

Would it be correct to also refer to the Ulna Adduction of the wrist as a Medial Adduction?
@thefunkyprofessor3 жыл бұрын
With the body placed in the anatomical position this would be correct, but if you bend your elbows with your palm facing forwards such as if you were waving to someone, then your it would appear as though the hand was going laterally! So to avoid this confusion it is better to use the term ulna adduction as this is consistent and clearer! Hope that helps😃

in another video i saw a bunch of physical therapist students say “a” “d” “duction”? is that because adduction and abduction sound really similar, and hence with “adduction” you spell out the first two letters to distinguish it from abduction? is it fairly common in the medical field to say “ay” + “dee”+”duction”?
@thefunkyprofessor3 жыл бұрын
Hi Dan - yes you are absolutely correct. If you say the words quickly you can get them confused, so to make sure it is clear you can say ‘A’ - ‘D’ duction or ‘A’ ‘B’ duction 😃!
@danjohnsonspam3 жыл бұрын
@@thefunkyprofessor Okay, thanks! Nice to know that if the next time I see a PT and tell him/her that my knee was hurting after doing some "ay-dee-duction" exercises of the hip, he/she will know what I'm referring to.

The radial deviation is adduction or abduction ?? Plz explain how
@thefunkyprofessor2 жыл бұрын
Radial deviation is abduction because movements are described in the the anatomical position, with the palms turned facing forwards. In that position the radius is laterally placed and movements at the wrist towards the radius are away from the midline = abduction Hope that helps😃

I I'm confused about the lateral/radial deviation. Wasn't "lateral" away from the middle of the body?
@thefunkyprofessor4 жыл бұрын
Hi Momo, You are absolutely correct ! Lateral and radial deviation is away from the middle of the body, WHEN THE BODY IS PLACED IN THE ANATOMICAL POSITION. This means that the arms are extended and placed by the side of the body with the palms are facing forwards. In this position the thumbs are furthest away from the body and the little finger is closest to the body, so lateral or radial deviation means moving the hand away from the body at the wrist joint (towards the thumb side). If the hands are raised and the palms are placed facing forwards on either side of your face, radial deviation still means moving the hands towards the thumb side, but with the hands in this position it appears as though the hands are moving towards the body, but they are no longer in the anatomical position. You are quite right - this can be confusing, which is why we have shown it in this way to make the point about the importance of remembering that all movements relate to the anatomical position! Hope that helps - please get in touch with again if it doesn't - info@thefunkyprofessor.com
