Took state test and haven't passed it, you explain it so well, thank you. There are no schools by me so teaching myself is a little harder than I thought. Thanks for your video very much appreciated

Have you retaken the test since? And if so, are you working in the field? I'm in FL and looking into this as a career change, but they're aren't any schools here

Took the test 3 times didn't pass, you need to find school, I tried doing it on my own, but much of the what i studied was barely on the state test, it was more about the technology of hearing aids

Oh man, that sucks! Community college takes long and is really expensive. Did you take the at home course from the Hearing Aid Academy? This is the one I'm trying to find out about now.

If you get a good audiologist to help you you should pass, one that let's you be hands on and explains and answers questions, I heard the test is easier in Florida, then in New Jersey.

At the age of 36 I'm deciding to move away from being an English teacher to study audiology. This is insightful and helping in my decision.

hello..., is it posssible for an infant to have a 40 to 50 db..,, conductive hearing loss..??? using a high frequency tympanometer.,, mild to moderate in degree.?? thanks...

hello.., will an abnormal tympanogram type b.., flat.. yield a conductive hearing loss..??? is it the same as the bone conduction test to detect middle ear pathology.., thank you..,,
@e3MedAcousticsInc
@e3MedAcousticsInc 4 жыл бұрын
Yes. You will find a conductive loss as the result of the middle ear pathology indicated by a type B (flat) tympanogram. You will still have to perform a bone conduction test to determine the extent of the loss. Hope that helps.

hello..., if a 1000hz tympanogram result indicate a flat result in an infant..?? what is the possible extent of the conductive hearing loss in that infant..?? how many decibels is lost..?? thank you..

1000 Hz typanometry is used on babies from birth through about 6 months to avoid a false negative due to ear canal compliance. If a valid type B Tymp is found in both ears, a conductive hearing loss is likely. It will be more pronounced in the low frequencies, and could be up to around 40 dB at 500 Hz, decreasing at 1,000 Hz and higher. Patient should be referred to an petiatric ENT facility.
