Second intention is not anything that happens after your inital attack as explained here. Those ar simply compund actions. Rather, second intention is moving, not with the first intention of simply directly attacking, but rather with the "second intention" of provoking the open end to move so that you can counter it and then land your attack. Example: Pause after your quick advance. The open end moves to parry quarte. You lunge to the now open side.
