This is great! I've been looking for stuff like this for a while. For some reason, it's so difficult to find basic instructions and drills for fencing. But this is it!

Thank you. I find fencing so amazingly cool. When I was born, my lovely grandma, (rest in peace,) kissed my feets and said, "'he's going to be a fencer." 28 years old now and I finaly did it. I have a past of drug addiction and it kills me that I did not do fencing from very early age, and become very good at it. It is something that haunts me everyday. So much waste in my life...

This is great stuff. I'm so glad I ran across this and all the rest of your videos. There's not near enough clear and concise instructional content out there like this. I'm struggling to keep a club alive after most of the experienced coaches left and I don't really have the experience to coach so this kind of stuff is great, thank you!

Should I be practicing with shoes on? I’ve been practicing these movements barefoot and the heel on my front foot has been hurting a little. This is normal right?
@osmfencing11 ай бұрын
Shoes are necessary as they provide you with appropriate support and will help reduce impact damage sustained by footwork and lunges.

Btw, my coach said tuck in your elbow tight to your body (ribs) and now you say otherwise :o when I stand in guard position.

You will find there are different schools of thought. No one school is wrong, just a different approach to the sport.

@@osmfencing Okok. Sir, could you likely in text form , so detailed as you can, explain to me how to hold, tuck and all that? The one I fought told me that my blade should always touch his blade, (hes a lefty. Hm…) So when fighting right handed that makes no sense at all. They often say I am not exacly doing the right way with my arm. I tuck my elbow in, arm paralell to ground, but then for my blade to touch his everytime I hit hist chest with my foil once I get back to on guard position, that little detail with my wrist I obviously. I have autism and on some stuff I need way mote detailed instruction and time to repeat, repeat, repeat.
