Sir...im final year bpt student..can you explain the phenomenon of reflex reversal?
@PhysioClassroom4 жыл бұрын
Hello, First of all many thanks for being Physioclassroom esteemed Member 😊 Reflexes are usually a stereotypic response to a stimuli. But reflex reversal Phenomenan is an exception to this and has been observed in locomotion studies on mammals. Reflex reversal Phenomenan is in which the same stimulus given at different time and situation can evoke different response. Example: a stroking stimulus over the dorsum of foot at the begining of the stance phase elicits an extensor response in the stance limb and if the same stimulus is applied during heel off or pre swing, then it leads to increase in the flexor activity of the same limb. So this is reversal of the response to the same stimuli. = Reflex reversal Phenomenan

Sir.. can you plz explain law of shunting...
@PhysioClassroom4 жыл бұрын
Yes I can but before that I should be knowing whom I am explaining to so that I can reply accordingly. Explaining shunting to a Physiotherapy student would be different and explaining to a professional would require finer neurophysilogical and treatment details. Just to summarise Shunting is a Phenomenan that a therapist aims to achieve by means of handling inorder the redirect and facilitate more normal and coordinated patterns of movements from the patient's brain. Normal sensory inputs are required to be given to the brain to bring about a purposeful efferent output. Shunting can also be termed as re-wiring the brain to correct the short-circuiting that results in more efferent discharges to spastic group of muscles. When these efferent discharges becomes balanced by correction of posture, joint position in space etc, more balance efferent discharges are produced and normal synergistic movement results. This is known as " Shunting Phenomenon". Further discuss is welcome. Thanks for watching Physioclassroom 😊

@PhysioClassroom5 жыл бұрын
Hello, thanx for watching our channel. Lot of NDT practical tips have been demonstrated by me in my hemiplegia rehabilitation series videos also. I will be making 5 to 10 more videos in the NDT series also very soon. NDT is a concept of treatment and requires continuos assessment and treatment of the patient based on those concepts. The treatment techniques are not stereotypic and needs to be varied patient to patient. I hope the NDT therapy will become more clearer once we have the whole series of videos posted on our channel. Do keep supporting us, your feedback are very important. Stay in touch and keep sharing our videos with your contacts. Thanks again. 😊🙏
