like the fact that your videos are always to the point ... but the best part was how casually you took that glass out of your bag 😅..

Nice introduction 😊. Looking forward to the rest of the series. Hoping that in the upcoming videos you can include your recommendations on the best sources of information on when to open specific Bordeaux wines. The “drink from” dates can vary significantly across reviewers, and if you only have 1 or 2 bottles per Chateau per vintage you don’t want to open too early, so am hoping to hear your thoughts on the best place to go for this kind of information.

Old world Bordeaux has long been my favorite region. I find the history and heritage very interesting. Plus the wines have a nice earthiness and complexity I don’t find in many other wines. Lately I’ve been finding better value in second through fifth growth grand cru classe Bordeaux. More so than Cabernet, especially Napa Cabs.

Ik know what you mean, but there only is 'old world' Bordeaux.
@rjo8500
@rjo8500 Жыл бұрын
@@valk5045 I know. But if we get technical, many vineyards have changed hands numerous times and the wine making in some cases has changed drastically. I had a few that showed hints of new world flavor. More fruit forward and little or no earthiness or “barnyard” as some here refer to it.

I understand, there are some wines that only on the nose alone shows typicity of beautiful Bordeaux. The nose alone says-> I am from Bordeaux. Unfortunately, as with many classic winemaking regions now, the prices for top wines are crazy high, and therefore to find value we must look at other labels. 🤷‍♀️ Cheers! 🍷

it will be interesting to check whether Alvarinho will fit into Bordeaux wines. I did not know about these grape introductions. and please, New World winemakers: just like gin and tonic (awful when drank separately), CS and Merlot were made to be together. stop making monovarietals of them, just blend them and be happy!
@NoSediment
@NoSediment Жыл бұрын
Hahahah! 😂😂😂 I think blending these grapes in Bordeaux makes sense. Not every year they could bring Cabernet to full ripeness. As opposed to Napa, where it wasn’t such a problem. But yes, I agree, Merlot adds juicier structure to Cabernet, while Cabernet Franc adds beautiful flavour complexity. 😉 cheers! 🍷

@@NoSediment Sveiki, Agnese! It's not because I watched "Sideways" (I did) but I really don't like 100% Merlots. There may be a bottle out there to change my mind but I just believe Merlot and CS were made for each other and belong in the same love barrel 💗

Hi Agnes, i recently purchase 2005 Haut Brion but i suspect there is a leaking during shipping as the label was stained by the wine itself. Does the bottle automatically gone bad? Or am i still able to keep it? Thanks
@NoSediment
@NoSediment Жыл бұрын
Hi, how are You? Well, label can be stained from other bottle leaking or broken. However if it is Your bottle, that mean that more O2 can penetrate into the bottle, thus speeding up the development phase. It is already at a “ready to enjoy” stage. Your call! 🙌😉

Futures are unfortunately most profitable by name, not necessarily quality. Prefer your recommendations!. The tannins incidentally are drying your mouth, lol… we need more from your opinion!

The best names don’t want to ruin their brand therefore the quality is kept at high levels. 😉 But I understand what You meant. 😅 Thank You for Your comment, I will try to keep up. 🍷
