A very interesting demonstration. Coring certainly makes a lot of sense with the cost of wood these days. I always though it was a shame to leave so much wood on the floor. With this system a lot more wood can go into useful items. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.

Great point! I ordered a set because I came into a lot of cherry burl recently and did not want to just sweep up the waste.

If you own a Oneway coring system I strongly suggest that you also invest in a Korpro carbide cutter from Hunter Tools. As with all carbide cutters it never needs sharpening and one blade is capable of coring about 200 bowls. Although the cartridge is a bit expensive, the replacement blades are reasonable in price. The Korpro saves you the time and frustration of needing to constantly sharpen the cutter and overall is well worth the investment.

It is a great system if you turn a lot of bowls. Almost essential if you turn bowls to sell.

Bom dia amigo, abraço aqui do Brasil, onde se compra essa ferramenta?

I do not know what is available in your country. You can buy direct from Oneway or from any vendor of Oneway products. Perhaps contact Oneway and ask if they have any dealers in your country.

Informative video Mike. I just don't know if I would use a coring system as I don't get a lots of big blanks that can be cored Take care my friend Cheers Harold

Good point. That is what I thought until I got this huge stash of cherry burls. And the guy in the video gave me an extra base he had. So my #1 knife arrives today.

Very interesting video, Mike! I've never seen these coring systems in use before. Just curious, does the binding do any potential harm to the motor or the headstock? It appears to be so brief I wouldn't think it would do anything, but wasnt' sure.
@MikePeaceWoodturning2 жыл бұрын
I have never heard that issue raised so I would think not. If done properly, binding is not an issue.

Great video Mike. Thank you for sharing. Do you know where I can get the top that John as wearing while turning? Looked like it was made from a good materiel that dust and shavings wouldn't stick to. 😊

What kind of kiln do you have? Does anyone make a smaller kiln for bowl blanks?
@MikePeaceWoodturning Жыл бұрын
I do not have a kiln as I rarely need to be in a hurry. If I am, I turn the bowl once thin from green wood and accept the warping. I think drying blanks that have not been roughed out would be difficult.
