Thank you for explaining things to me. I've been cross stitching for years but never counted always stamped. This is my first time. A bit nervous to start, but you are putting me at ease. Thank you.

Thank you for making this video!! I used to cross stitch years ago and with my new job, I didn't have time. Then I started having seizures in 2007 and I've been disabled ever since. My memory is shot, but I want to get back into cross stitching and I can't get over how much that I've forgotten!! I couldn't remember how to put my fabric on the hoop!! I appreciate you making this video because it's DEFINITELY helping my memory!! Have a very blessed day!!

Nicely done. Great tutorial. Although I have done counted cross stitching in the past, this was a great refresher tutorial. Thanks!

Really helpful! I'm a beginner and so when I saw the pattern plan with all the different shapes for thread I was like..this looks really complicated, but thank-you. You pretty much cleared up any questions I had :)

I have picked up counted cross stitch again now that I have retired. I have a bit of old knowledge but want to brush up on various things. I have started a big project with all kinds of thread, beads and metal thread. I may set it down and work a smaller simpler design until I warm back up. Thanks for the videos.

I have a question. If you have a cross stitch pattern and you see a block that has half color and bald white. Do I fill the whole block with the color I’m working on or leave it blank?

Question. I have a pattern and I noticed that the some of blocks are not completely shaded with the color. Like one block is half color in it and the other half is white. So Do I fill in that block with the color or leave it blank? It’s an 11 count

Awesome! Thanks very helpful!!💕 unfortunately in Canada we have crappy kit options😫 Do you have any links to buy the 11 account online? Or is 14-count okay for a beginner?
@JeanninesCraftroom
@JeanninesCraftroom 5 жыл бұрын
11 or 14 would be good for beginners. Try searching Amazon for different kits.

Video did everything but show HOW to follow/read a counted cross stitch instruction. I'm trying to decide if I want to start with counted or printed.

Hey Jeannine! Question - when you cross stitch do you prefer the 14 Aida or another size? I wasn't sure what the difference was.
@JeanninesCraftroom
@JeanninesCraftroom 8 жыл бұрын
It really depends on the size you want for the finished piece as to what size Aida cloth to work with. The higher the number, the smaller the squares. This is because the number refers to how many "squares per inch" there are. So the squares on 11 count would be larger than on the 14 count and would produce a larger finished picture. if there are lots of fine details you might want an 18 or larger for a nice looking finished piece. A simple design would do well on 11 count. Some patterns are very specific about which size cloth to use. I hope this all made sense to you! Thanks for watching!!

I'm looking for some help on a counted cross stitch that I'm doing for my new grandson. I'm having trouble seeing where to stitch when I need to sew white on the white fabric. Maybe it is just my age (61) but what can I do to make it easier to see?

I have seen these magnifiers for sale in "senior" magazines such as Lilian Vernon that have a string you wear around your neck like a necklace and a piece that rests against the chest to hold the magnifier over your work so you can see it better. I've always thought that was a genius idea - a hands free magnifying glass. That's about the only thing that comes to mind. Tone on tone colors can be very difficult to see, especially if you already have vision problems. I'm near sighted so I have to just about hold something like that to my nose! LOL This is an example of one - www.maxiaids.com/products/10085/UltraOptix-Hands-Free-Neck-Magnifier-1-5x-3x.html?Froogle&Froogle&idAff=15225&gclid=Cj0KEQiAsdCnBRC86PeFkuDJt_MBEiQAUXJfLZVPyhZaaSLAqdbIVct4NZerkhjawmM6TKGwQwVQl60aAptc8P8HAQ

Put a dark fabric on your lap and that should help. I know that when doing Swedish Weaving on black Monk's cloth I had to go outside in order to see the weave!

On your God's ... I would make additional stitches on that G - because He is more important than the next capital G. Also: can not -- would that be: cannot ? On my 'Footprints in the Sand' I made a count error - and compensated and no one will ever know!

Thank you for that suggestion. I had to learn early on that my work, no matter how hard I try, will never be "perfect". So, I do the best I can to figure out how to work with mistakes. LOL. It sounds like you've done the same. It's a good thing to keep a sense of humor and realness about ourselves. Thanks for watching and commenting!
