Introduction to Human Geography: Analyzing Regional Patterns of Black Segregation in the US

This tutorial guides students through the process of recognizing three common patterns of residential segregation (ghettoization) for Black people in the United States, using Wayne County, Michigan; Harris County, Texas; and Mecklenburg County, NC. Students also analyze the degree of segregation using an Index of Dissimilarity, which is partially calculated for students doing this assignment with ArcGIS Online (Map Viewer)
