Quick introduction to Kamailio, the open source SIP server (www.kamailio.org).
Kamailio® (successor of former OpenSER and SER) is an Open Source SIP Server released under GPL, able to handle thousands of call setups per second. Kamailio can be used to build large platforms for VoIP and realtime communications - presence, WebRTC, Instant messaging and other applications. Moreover, it can be easily used for scaling up SIP-to-PSTN gateways, PBX systems or media servers like Asterisk™, FreeSWITCH™ or SEMS.

You should mention whether it relays RTP and codecs supported. And it's not a media application server like IVR and conferencing.

I have watched many videos on kamailio, what it does, why etc. etc. However, I cannot seem to find much information on actually starting with kamailio. Like integration with existing infrastructure ( freeswitch in my case ), configuration etc. Any resources you can refer me to ?

Hey Fred Posner, Thanks for sharing this wonderful video Would you please share some idea on SBC ( kamailio) , I have one issue in kamailio when call inside kamailio and call is trying to connect asterisk at the same time kamailio restarted either gracefully or hard reboot so that connecting call also disconnected Do we have an option in kamailio so that inside kamailio calls keep live until kamat restart or on

Hi Manoj, by default this is the case as the SIP is statelessly handled... so restarts should not drop calls whatsoever.

Hey, I want to know this reason - why kamailio only can connect to mysql using /tmp/mysql.sock and why it can’t use /run/mysql/mysql.sock.
