Thanks for the video. I have tried to layer photos on top of each other. However, when selecting the crop button to adjust an upper layer photo, the cropping tool keeps defaulting to the background photo. Would you be able to explain how I can crop photos in different layers? Thanks. Tim

Tim, That is a great question. I've done some experimenting. It looks like you will need to crop any photo in a layer in the Adjustment tab before placing it in a layer. The crop tool on the screen when you are working with layers apparently works on the entire project. --Jim

How do I create a layer from a selection that I made?

First, duplicate the photo and work on the duplicate layer. Hide the original. Select the area on the duplicate layer that you want to keep. Then invert the selection to all the areas you don't want to keep. Use the delete key to remove them. Your remaining layer will now feature only the area you selected. --Jim
