I've put off AP Chem prep for so long so now it's time to lock in. Thank you for these videos. I'm just hoping I get at least a 3 and pass.

May I ask what's the difference between this new play list and the older one "The AP chemistry full course" ?
@JeremyKrug Жыл бұрын
This new playlist is arranged in order of the nine AP Chem units, which will make it a lot more user friendly for AP Chem students. The old playlist has everything as well, but it's not in the order that most students are learning it in class.

Does ap Chem teach the basics of chem. Because I want to take ap chem instead of regular chem
@JeremyKrug Жыл бұрын
No, AP Chem is intended as a second-year course. There's quite a bit of the basics of chemistry that are assumed as 'prior knowledge' in the AP Chem course. To get those basics, check out my playlists, which have regular chemistry arranged in several 'modules.'

I am choosing to take Ap Chem instead of regular chem in my junior year. Is it too risky? Should I go for regular chem first?
@kirixaki6 ай бұрын
I'd say you should go for regular chem first as there's a lot of foundational stuff you learn in junior year which differentiates greatly from grade 10 chem, but you could probably get by doing both courses simeotaneously!

Hi Mr. Krug! This was such a great video, and I'm a big fan of your delivery of the content. Do you think it is possible for me to self-study AP Chemistry using your videos without having first taken normal high school chemistry? Thank you for making all these videos!
@JeremyKrug2 ай бұрын
Hi there, and thanks for watching! I always recommend that students take a first-year chemistry class before AP Chem. However, it is possible to self-study AP Chem (even to a 5!) with my videos and resources. You might find my Ultimate Review Packet helpful if you're self-studying, as I have lots of practice questions and problems over there.

@@JeremyKrug Thanks for your reply! Where can I get your Ultimate Review Packet?
@user-jz4rd6iv4t2 ай бұрын
Dear Mr. Krug, may i ask is it possible to self-study AP chemistry on my own and get a 4 just by watching your videos? And for the labs and experiments in the AP chemistry course, is it necessary to do it, do those labs appear on the final exam or they are just used to let the students understand more by doing experiments by themselves? Thank you so much!
@JeremyKrug2 ай бұрын
It's very possible to get a 4 (or even a 5) by self-studying. Lots of students are using my videos and having great success, so I know you can do this too! To get ready for the exam, make sure you have lots of review and practice. I'm preparing my Ultimate Review Packet for AP Chem to help students review and get lots of practice for the big exam. I hope this helps!

@JeremyKrugАй бұрын
No, 'mol' is the abbreviation for mole. There isn't really a good abbreviation for molecule, sometimes I'll use 'molec'.
@hopscotchchamp8282Ай бұрын

Why does formula mass use different units than molar mass.
@JeremyKrug8 ай бұрын
Formula mass specifically refers to the mass of one formula unit of a substance (micro-scale), which is why formula mass is given in amu (atomic mass units). On the other hand, molar mass is the mass of one mole of a substance (macro-scale), which is why molar mass is given in grams per mole. In practice, the numerical value for formula mass , in amu, will be identical to its value for molar mass, in grams per mole.
