what is netball? ah, its basketball with quirky no dribble rules. one thing i don't get is why only 2 positions can try to score? are positions changeable during a game?

Very interesting. I am an American. I just wanted to do a little research. It seems you have to get so close to the net to make the shot. Perhaps it’s a bias of where I grew up by having that backboard in basketball and dribbling really makes for some good action. Do Australians play basketball like Americans do?

Hi! You definitely don't need to be close to the net to make the shot. In our Suncorp Super Netball League players can earn two points for shooting a 'super shot' in the outer area of the goal circle during the last 5 minutes of each quarter. You can see some examples here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/p6inpoVjbt9jgsk. Australians also play basketball. Here we have the National Basketball League (NBL). Hope this helps :)
