Before I get to my question, I just have to mention that teaching people to steady their hand by placing a pinky on their canvas is potentially creating a bad habit. It's never too early to introduce a mahlstick. It doesn't even have to be a proper mahlstick, using the handle side of a long, thin paintbrush is better than a pinky. 😊 I'm trying to get out of my comfort zone and employ different ways of shading oils that I've always used, so I'm watching videos. Yours turned out beautifully, but I couldn't tell if you ever used a soft, dry brush while blending or if you always used a small amount of paint. So, that's my question. Did you ever use a dry brush to help with the shading? Thanks! 😊
