What a helpful video. Thank you for clearly explaining the differences and similarities between a piccolo trumpet and a Bb trumpet! Other videos simply show off their piccolo skills without much explanation.

I played the 6810 Yamaha which this guy is holding in the vid. Easy to play transitioning from a full size Bb trumpet. At least scale wise. Hope that helps.

Well guess what they never removed all these easier to play brass instruments. The french horn still exists. That boy is like twice as long as a trumpet (single horn). The thing about french horn is that they are used for rips a lot too and having all those notes accesible without changing the fingerings helps a lot for rips.

How much does a good model Piccolo Trumpet go for?

In the US, you can get a used one for around $800 to $2,000. New they are about $1,800 to $3,500. Sometimes you can find them for less, but be careful not to get a cheap one of low quality. The one in this video I am selling for $1,400.

I got a getzen Capri for 250 on Craigslist in great condition. Bought a Blackburn leadpipe for 190 or something like that and it plays great.

I am not the best piccolo trumpet player. I know the facts about them and I can repair them, but you probably would not want to listen to me play one.

I had a pocket trumpet and it played that stupid noise so I threw it away

In general, the only advantage of a pocket trumpet is that it is easily portable. I do not recommend this, but one of my customers plays his pocket trumpet while driving.

Why don't you just play the darn horn! Every time someone has the.. 6810(?) Yamaha piccolo trumpet, they Always yap away NEVER playing the darn thing! Please, demonstrate the Characteristics of that of that horn. We see you know how to work on them....
