Great EQ - lives on all my busses. Bought it within a minute of its announcements. And of course great presentation as always. Some of the details are new to me.

Primarily mixing on groups as it's a bit CPU heavy on too many tracks. Mastering as well in case I need some air or ''invisibly fix some minor things usually in Japanese mode, or even tilt the whole mix eq. Thx.

One of the best equalization tools available period by three of the best developers around. Unbelievably good quality for money and the free variety too good to be true (almost). Raid all of Variety of Sounds', VladgSounds' and TDR plugins...You won't be disappointed to put it mildly

There's something magical about the gain-dependent Q-values. Especially in the default American mode. It speeds up my work flow tremendously.

A great plugin. I've been using it for mastering, as it's a bit CPU heavy. This really helped me to understand it better. As always, Dan nails it with his explanation and demonstration. I also love the NOVA dynamic EQ plugin, though it's even more CPU heavy. Otherwise, I'd use it on every track.
@moontan91 Жыл бұрын
perhaps then the SlickEQ M would be better suited in that case.
@piscesman54 Жыл бұрын
@@moontan91 I think it's meant more for mastering. It's supposed to be a very high-quality sophisticated EQ, but it is high CPU consumption.

Man, I'm using the free version and I'm interested in the GE but why only 3 bands? Pretty much every classic console EQ has 4.. Will there ever be a 'Master Edition' with 4? lol
@Seany069 жыл бұрын
....and with a wide band bell WITHOUT proportional Q? Matching it to Neve and MCI style EQ's and I couldn't get the width.. obviously it's not meant to emulate them but it would be nice to have a mode like German with the wide bands that stayed wide when cutting and boosting...
@Byronic191346 жыл бұрын

i think is the American Style EQ is an Emulation of the API Equalizer but i have no idea about the other Styles of EQs Would you please Explain this to me (because i read the whole Manual and there's Nothing about it) Thanks in advance
@iamboybeats7 жыл бұрын
None of the styles are based on any analog gear. The names and colors are simply for memorization purposes.
@TokyoDawnRecords7 жыл бұрын
Indeed. These "nationalistic" winks represent different Q behaviours (proportional Q, fixed Q, asymmetric Q). Some of them relate to behaviours of iconic EQs, some are our own ideas. The emulation business generally doesn't excite us much.. :)

What is the difference, if any, between the type of oversampling other popular plugins use to this type of oversampling? "The 64bit multi-rate processing scheme (a.k.a. “internal re-sampling”) practically eliminates typical problems of digital EQ implementations such as frequency-warping, quantization distortion and aliasing."
@AutPen38 Жыл бұрын
I think when TDR first introduced this, it was one of the few plugins to include internal over-sampling, using 64-bit CPU calculations (which caused it to be considered a CPU-hog at the time), but that sort of thing is more common now. That said, there are still a lot of rival plugins that just use a very steep filter above 20kHz to cut out the high-frequency "bounce backs" that would cause aliasing when saturation is added and those don't completely remove the issues like TDR's plugs seem to do.

Is this compatible with audirvana?. When i use slickeq as a plug in I can hardly touch any of the dials without it distorting and the outgain instantly flashing red. Outgain is set to auto, nothing is particularly loud but it seems to distort really easily. Is there anything I'm missing that could be causing it as I really want to get the gentleman's edition if I know I can get it working. Cheers
