This is a great series, thanks for making it. I'm returning to the amateur radio hobby at the age of 71 and a gap of 40 years since studying for my licence. Your course is good for newbies and as a refresher for oldies too! You present in a clear and concise way with the odd hint of humour which makes learning easy and enjoyable. Again, thanks for making these videos.

Thank you for the video and for the series. In the video (4:49) you mentioned that discharge time, is governed by selecting C1, C2. This is correct but it would be more accurate to mention ESR and other parasitic resistance in the circuit.

Thank you for the great video series on the subject. I have a quick question. When the spark ignites, the voltage on C1 drops, as a result the spark would break off again and end the charging of C2. What i mean is, the charging curve for C1 shown in the picture 4:54 should somehow be much more asymmetrical, or am i wrong?

It could be, as it will ultimately come down to the values of the particular components, but the circuit itself is impractical for several reasons though. In the next video the spark gap is moved to a better location.
