I loved your video and learned a lot from it. I just have a question. How could students who don't know any English develop a task. How could they produce a sentence when they don't know any English? Thank you.

thank you Martin. I am working on my Master's thesis focuses on TBLT and this is really helpful. i am really confused where TBLT originated. some articles said it was from Prabhu's Bangalore Project some said , he popularized the approach. and i read that this is a strong branch of communicative language teaching. i really want to know where exactly TBLT came from? thank you for your responses. i do hope you can read this.
@ELTExperiences4 жыл бұрын
Hello Noreen and thank you for your comment. If you look at Prabhu's Bangalore Project, it is dated 1985. However, if you look at the Malaysian Communicational Syllabus, it pre-dates the Bangalore Project, and is dated 1975. TBLT does share some underlying theory from the Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) approach with motivation being determined by internal (learner) factors, rather than external factors. I would recommend that you consider getting "Approaches and Methods in Language Teaching" (Richards and Rodgers, 2014) as it provides further details and the history regarding TBLT. It is available here: amzn.to/30o4Tcm

Thanks for your sharing, it was very insightful. I was wondering could I ask for the reference list of this video? I would like to find those articles and read them deeply. Thanks in advance.

I am unsure where to locate the articles for further reading but the 'International Association for Task-Based Language Teaching' will have further resources and publications that you can source. Here is their website: www.iatblt.org/
