I can see where you are coming from with NF doing the same kind of music that comes from the soul, that has meaning beyond greed and T&A. Ren has been doing music for about 21 years, starting when he was 13 selling cassettes of the drum and bass music he produced. Started playing guitar when his dad gave him one at the age of 10. He is self-taught on all of the instruments. He didn't learn guitar chords; he learned the pattern the fingers made for a particular sound when he slowed down the videos on KZbin of artists such as John Frusciante and Jimi Hendrix. He learned to sing the same way from online music instructors such as Chris Liepe. Ren said when he started busking, street performing, that people told him his singing was rubbish. He didn't let that stop him; he just learned to sing better. I am glad you reacted to Hi Ren. I hope to see you react to more songs. Ren is a magician with metaphors. Try 'Seven Sins', which goes into his illness and what it feels like; Sick Boi, which talks about healthcare and music industries. There are a lot of fun songs as well. If you want cheeky, funny Ren, try Uninvited. Losing It is a good song.

A while back Ren said it was too early to know if anything would come of it, but he was talking to NF. Unfortunately, with his relapse everything he's had in progress has been pushed back or put on hold so it could be some time before we find out.

Ren has been doing this for longer than NF but Ren's talent is on a completely different level! If there's any 'influence' here, you may have it the wrong way round! lol. :) Ren's a unique artist. A musical genius. A once in a generation talent! He's an incredible human being too! :) NF is a great rapper and lyricist but Ren's better, at both! Ren does his own audio engineering and sets up his own recordings. Ren's also a top-notch producer, who lays down his own music/beats/audio. He has incredible vocals, capable of multiple voices, styles and tones, always dripping with real emotion and full of subtle little vocal nuances. He raps like a rap god, scats and beatboxes brilliantly! Ren plays about a dozen instruments well. Half of them RIDICULOUSLY well! All self-taught! His main instruments are acoustic and classical guitar, electric guitar, bass and piano. Though he also plays cello, drums, melodica, mandolin, ukulele, an instrument whose name I can't remember and a couple of others that I can't remember atm! :) Ren comes up with, produces, directs and edits his own videos and has won several major international awards for doing so! He's equally incredible at writing in both prose and poetry. His performance skills are first-class and his stage presence is palpable! Ren's songwriting is world-class! Especially his lyricism. He's a poet really and a great poet at that! :) Also, unlike NF, Ren is fully independent. No label, no financial backing, no PR machine or publicist, no management company. Every label under the Sun has tried to sign Ren! He's turned them all down! With Ren it really is all about the music! :) He did briefly sign with Sony, at the age of 19. Unfortunately it was the same time as his illnesses began kicking in. He became too ill to continue, within a matter of months. Since emerging from the best part of 7 years, of a bedridden 'exile', he's been determinedly independent. He remains seriously, chronically ill and recently suffered a major relapse, that left him bedridden once more, for a couple of months. He's in constant 24hr pain and suffers much else besides. Despite all this^, Ren made history last year! He became the first, fully independent artist, to achieve a number 1 UK album! The album also went top 10 in several other countries and topped both the US hip-hop album chart and the iTunes worldwide chart! :) Even more impressive when you consider that he's unable to tour, or to properly promote his work, due to his health. At the time, he was out of the country, thousands of miles from home, in the middle of 18 moths of intensive treatment! Don't bother trying to put Ren into a box. Ren writes and performs in every style and genre and does so brilliantly! tl/dr - Ren's great! Ren's music is great! Definitely react to more Ren! You won't be disappointed. You WILL be surprised... constantly! :)

@@Codex7777 I see that he's a very unique and talented person. Again, with having to go thru everything he's going thru and still do the amazing things he does I truly something special. When I made the NF comment I was simply stating that they're music isn't like most music. Its motivational. Not comparing them as artists. Most of the music I hear is rap which has no meaning. Or love songs. Or anarchist. Etc. this music comes from deep inside. And I like it

great choice. count my hand held high for an NF/Ren collab. Ren is a great story. Misdiagnosed for years (actually has Lyme disease). Independent artist and scored a #1 album in the UK.

@@SigmaSauer07 Yes, by the time they figured it out it had already reached his brain and caused brain damage and brain neuropathy. It tore his body up including damage to his organs. He developed a few autoimmune diseases as well. He had some stem cell transfusions that helped but he will have his chronic disease for life. Just recently he had a bad relapse (while filming new music videos) and was back bedridden. He is clawing back out again with more medical treatments.

Btw, Ren's a lot LOT more than just depressed. He has permanent damage to his body and brain and is in unrelenting, 24hr pain! Ren has Lyme disease, bartonella, MCAS, neuropathy, severe autoimmunity, adhd, ptsd and chronic depression and for a while also suffered from full-blown psychosis. Apart from the adhd, his mental health problems are almost entirely a result of the genune torture he's been through and the powerful psychosomatic drugs they'd prescribed him, as they'd incorrectly diagnosed him with various mental illnesses, somewhat ironically... Unfortunately they misdiagnosed all of his actual chronic illnesses, so they were left free to ravage his body and brain, for years.

@spinalobifida ty. That's exactly what I explained in some of my first few videos. Before I even do a video I sit there for about 2 hours nervous to even hit the record button. But I feel this is something I need to build on in order to become better in a way. It hasn't helped me with real world stuff. I still won't go out and make friends. But Im feeling better with talking to people here. Slowly but surely
