A moment after every high hope on our boys faded-in the dying minutes of the Grand-final. When Ase put a grubber to place the Wapenamenda Mack Truck in Willie Minoga to put a hand on the ball in the in-goal made PNG stood still in tears. I for one will not deny the fact that i literally dropped tears of joy! What a moment it was

Awesome win PNG hunters! Now if only Fiji can be finally be introduced to NSW cup, imagine how much this would do to boost league in a traditional union heartland country of Fiji. After so much talk of a formal announcement made earlier tus year that a Fijian team would be introduced into NSW cup, seems like plans have fallen through. Guessing IRB & ARU desperately probably being partially respinsible for this plan falling through by them responding to possibility of league stealing their player talent by quickly paying off Fijian politicians to instead promptly introduce a Fijian team into shitty NRC Austrlaian domestic union comp.

Fiji should have put their rugby team in the NZ comp. Australia's NRC is pretty average. That way the FRFL could had their league team in the NSW Cup.

u sound like a Rugby union hater and someone not from Fiji....rugby union is our national sport here in Fj n we are naturally gifted with rugby ability. the irony Is, everyone is so talented that they all can't get in one sport. we are thankful to ARU for opening up a pathway to our local talent. unlike png, Rugby League just started here in 1992 and we a proud to reach 2 rlwc semi finals in our short history.

Michael Palmer Thats what we as fans are hoping for. But the technicalities in running an NRL club between 2 countries are extensive. Its not impossible, PNG just needs time to tick off its checklist before a stronger bid can be pushed.

They'd have to rely entirely on local talent because they wouldn't convince many people to go over and their and live in PNG. Restricting your options like that can't cut it in the NRL. Whenever the Warriors have gone for all Kiwis they've failed. They only way it would be feasible is to base their team out of Cairns and go to PNG for half the home games.

They won't introduce a PNG side before a team goes to Perth. It's supposed to be the NATIONAL Rugby League but it's got teams in three states and 1 territory. Expand in your own country first, sort out the multiple clubs in financial ruin (ala the Gold Coast) before dealing with the mountains of work that would come from establishing a PNG team.

KingChute After the NRL secured the $1.8 billion broadcasting rights deal this year, it has committed $100 million to all clubs up until 2022. If anything, the Titans (owned by NRL) should be questioned for mismanagement other than funding.

The Hunters concept and talent is based locally. All current Hunters were taken from the National Comp (Digicel Cup). Obtaining a 2nd Tier comp premiership after 4 years in the comp may not be much for any NRL statement currently, but it shows the pathway is working.
