Interesting method. It turns out that underneath the Nameless Arcanum (XIII) is the VI of Swords, not the Wands; and under the Emperor, the VI of Wands and not of Swords. But what really made me curious was the numbering of both cards 6 being reversed, marked with a 4, "IV". Not to mention that the 4 are not marked this way, but with "IIII"... ???

I've tried this out with my Chrysalis deck and it really helps me get to know the visual symbolism in a new system. Thanks :)

Wow. What a fantastic instructional video. I think I just learned more about reading TdM in 40 minutes than I have in the past few months. I’ve really been trying to practice reading visually, but I get so frustrated with the pips that I just put my TdM decks down and go back to RWS. I struggle trying to get visual stories from the repetitive pips. What a relief to know I can just leave them out! And that’s traditional, too? Super cool. And thanks again for helping us all on our Tarot journey. I really loved the way you worked with the pip cards at the end. You make it seem much less intimidating.

Coming to this video veerry late. I use two TdM decks to read. One I use only the Major Arcana and read using the Open Reading technique (Ben-Dov, Camelia Elias). The other deck I use all the cards with the meanings I ascribed to the minors (covered in Tarot on Earth and Vincent Pitici's Bare Bones Tarot). Both techniques work but the Open Reading is POWERFUL.

I do like the first method with all the picture cards including the courts then the Thoth minors underneath, it worked well. Thanks Tom ✨

I read the pips for Ben-Dov CBD but I struggle to match it more modern TdM as the pips don’t follow the visual structure.

I love you content, brother! Just a heads up though. The curved pips are swords and the straight pops are wands 👍🙏

Mentally focusing is a good way - I find I end up answering the original question in some way - but mentally framing is good. I like the majors with minor explainers a great reading style. And thank you for inspiring Colin’s VR

There are a couple decks that I JUST use the majors from, the Madonni tarot comes to mind...but I'm not above trying it with any deck. I love this method - no matter what deck. Using little things from what a color or a little shape, or in busy decks, a certain piece of the pie makes us think in the context of the question, or even the querant. I was doing a reading the other day, and the good old...uh, I dunno - whatever...that's your question????? But okay, let's open the four worlds, give you a querent card and see what comes up...wands, and then the inevitable, what are you passionate about...uh, travel??? Well in the end there was a bunch of cups, 2 ten cards, and a whole lotta wands...it ended up being a love and partnership reading...clearly, and there were two knights, so hmmm - who's the other guy? or is this two sides of the same guy? (we had a 4/Wands, AND a 2/Cups already) you just never know what'll come through if you give the cards some space for imagination...

I really like that you dont rephrase questions to the client, that you answer the questions asked. It actually kind of annoys me that idea that readers should "educate" clients on how to ask better question or demystify the cards. Etc... as a client, I would not go to a reader for ANY OF THAT! Keep it spooky, lol. Dont educate me, or tell me I'm asking the wrong questions etc... cuz if I wanna know "does he love me?" I *dont* want a reading of "what can I do to attract love to my life." Lol. If i go to order a hot dog i dont want a health lecture and be given something "better for me." Ya know?
