@i.v.blankenship Every American will make more and spend less. If a company wants to survive, they need to lower their prices. If a company wants to avoid Tarriffs, they will have to build here in the states.

@@xdxdxdxd1643 how will Americans make more? No, what will happen is the companies will continuously import, paying the tariff and passing the extra cost on to consumers because it’s still cheaper than manufacturing the product locally. On the off chance that a tariff makes a product more expensive than a local counterpart, the local company will be free to raise their price as well.
@xdxdxdxd1643Сағат бұрын
@i.v.blankenship No income tax, no tax on overtime or tips. ( More Jobs ) Companies will go bankrupt in America if they don't lower prices. It's already happening, and companies are switching production to the U.S.A. Auto industry and the fishing industry. Just what exactly do you want people to do for work if you just continue to send ever job over to these countries that pay pennies to work all day if they're not using slave labor. (china). If these companies didn't need to make 2000% profit on every little widget they make than they could pay a good wage here and build rods, reels, baits here.
@glensims795911 сағат бұрын
The tariffs that you are speaking about are only going to effect the cost of rods, reels, and tackle by about .70 per 100.00 at most. I don't think that will drastically effect the market at all.

Randy, To get psyched for 2025, I was on the NPFL website reading a Brad Fuller lecture about organizational culture, written as a prelude to the 2025 season. In it, he alluded to the importance of culture and treating fellow anglers with “respect”. He talked about being “positive”, showing “integrity” and “resilience”. He stated that culture wasn’t “just a buzz word“ and that it was “everything” to the NPFL. Do you know if he penned that before or after his recent restaurant altercation? How do you think his inability to control his temper might impact the 2025 season? Do you think the culture of the NPFL took a hit and that the league will suffer as a result? Or, was he just demonstrating that everyone has 1st amendment rights, and that these rights can be lost if not exercised in family restaurants?

Randy, I agree, and you didn't touch on this. Several companies in the fishing industry are struggling. Hummingbird Johnson Outdoors had an 11% drop in revenue in the 4th quarter with a 43.5 million dollar loss in revenue. Mercury Marine has laid off 1700 workers because of softening sales.

I don’t know that this is entirely accurate. I think if we looked at pricing it may be a case of North American manufacturers inflating prices on product from China. Project I work in, even with tariffs, goods out of China are waaaaaay cheaper than US product. Price comparisons for 2019 Chinese products with 20% tariff were still cheaper than the same product purchased in US back in 2006!

On the tariff issue YOU are just as self serving as the "Billionaires BOy's Club"! think about the industry and how it flourishes back in the 70's and 80's. i don't support trump, but the tariff thing is a great step back to a sustainable economy!

Just make it here 😆 The outlay of capital, for facilities, manufacturing and labor, to move manufacturing here is not going to happen. I like to ask my "build it here" friends why they don't buy their clothes made here in the USA. Answer- Well I can't afford to. EXACTLY! Consumers aren't going to pay double or triple of today's prices. Bait companies can't take a 60% hit to their bottom line and survive. The majority of hard baits are made in China. Outsourcing will be moved out of China, to Costa Rica, Korea, Vietnam, and Guatemala, to save 50% (60%-10% tariffs) of costs. A positive note is Lowrance products including FFS are made in Mexico and subject to 25% tariffs. Garmin products including FFS are made in Taiwan. The costs to "cheat" with FFS is going up.😀
