I completely agree!! These fish do not belong in our lakes and canals at all. If people want to have a pond they should keep these fish for as long as they live. It's like any other pet. Are we going to let a dog loose in the wild because he gets too big?!? Of course not. Thanks for the view and comment!!!

@@IslandLifeFishing exactly! You wont let your dog or cat run wild but yet lets dump this common pleco in tropical water cause well it outgrew my 29 gallon tank and i dont want to do the responsible thing and give it back so i will dump it in this stream and it will be alright. Right?

Please correct your video, Redtail catfish do not primarily eat dead organic matter, and are not docile. They are feared in the Amazon and have been blamed for some human deaths. "Ecology: The redtail catfish is native to the Amazon and Orinoco River basins, where it uses its well-developed chemosensory and tactile abilities to sense prey. The diet consists primarily of other fishes (primarily characins and catfishes) but also may include fruits, seeds, and crustaceans, especially in seasonally-flooded forests. It is a habitat generalist, using large rivers, sloughs, streams, lagoons, and estuaries. It is a slow-moving, bottom-dwelling fish that is thought to attack prey by probing and ambush."

I think it more then just poeple releasing pets. I think most inviasive speices in florida are from farms and breeders.considering most fish, reptiles,ECT. are bred in florida due to the states tropical climate which makes it prefect for raising and breeding exotic animals. But when a storm hits hurricane winds destory out door breeding enclosures and flood fish ponds.
