Anyone who has never tried to throw a cast net cannot appreciate the “”O’s” you were throwing in this video. And Jake is doing pretty good for his age too! Back in The Day, the early ‘50’s, I had a 8 foot cotton net but never used it enough to get past “banana’s”. When I did try and use it my target species were mullet. I used the lead in my mouth method but without your and Robert’s “pirouette”. And, I hand cast all the weights on the lead line too, one at a time. 😊

Here in north Texas, we stock tilipia in summer to have babies for the bass to eat. When the water temperature drops below 45 degrees, the tilipia die. So they get really lethargic in the fall when the bass are putting on weight for winter. You have to stock them every year, but they suppport the bass growth.

One way it can happen: Birds eat fish eggs from another body of water. some of them pass through their system undigested and end up in the pond when the bird flies by and poops or lands in the pond and poops. Another way it can happen..bird such as eagle or osprey picks up tilapia from other body of water, flies over pond, accidently drops it. Another way: flood temporarily connects more than one body of warer
