It's my second day based in Inverness and it's time to do the Far North line. Yes, the line that wiggles its way up from Inverness through the Highlands taking in firths, lochs, valleys, mountains, rivers, sea views and high moorlands. All on a day when Storm Babet is rolling in from the east!
As it turned out my train was "the last train outta Dodge" on the fateful day, as ScotRail closed the line immediately afterwards due to the impending storm!
This is definitely a "bucket list" trip for anybody that likes train, or indeed any kind of travel. I'm so pleased I managed to make this trip before the weather closed in, so do join me for this one.
