Precalculus on Khan Academy: You may think that precalculus is simply the course you take before calculus. You would be right, of course, but that definition doesn't mean anything unless you have some knowledge of what calculus is. Let's keep it simple, shall we? Calculus is a conceptual framework which provides systematic techniques for solving problems. These problems are appropriately applicable to analytic geometry and algebra. Therefore....precalculus gives you the background for the mathematical concepts, problems, issues and techniques that appear in calculus, including trigonometry, functions, complex numbers, vectors, matrices, and others. There you have it ladies and gentlemen....an introduction to precalculus!
About Khan Academy: Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom. We tackle math, science, computer programming, history, art history, economics, and more. Our math missions guide learners from kindergarten to calculus using state-of-the-art, adaptive technology that identifies strengths and learning gaps. We've also partnered with institutions like NASA, The Museum of Modern Art, The California Academy of Sciences, and MIT to offer specialized content.
For free. For everyone. Forever. #YouCanLearnAnything

Nope, very nearsighted and quite wrong statement in many cases. I had many teachers quite as good as him, and yet I understood better on internet. What changes relative to classes here is mostly context and unrelated to the teached itself, let me explain : it's just that in class you have a whole day of concentration on other topics behind you, which may not be the case here, there may be perturbations, which is not the case here, the teacher cannot re-record if he notice he wasn't didactic enough or went unclear because of some student asking question that are too much ahead relative to the rest of the class, you cannot play backward a part to view it several time to understand it better, you cannot skip if you aready know aqnd it is boring, and finally you are not here by choice, which is the case for this video.

@@Osamoele That's well said; I guess you also need to have some luck with what teacher you get in front of you. Anyway, I think both complement each other perfectly!

It may be useful to mention here that the determinate must NOT be equal to 0 in order for a 2x2 matrix to be invertible. This is because in the formula used to find the inverse of a 2x2 matrix, you must compute 1/determinate, and a denominator cannot be equal to 0, therefore the inverse cannot be found. So in short, if the determinate = 0, the matrix does not have an inverse.

i am not kidding you, my math teacher put a problem up on the board as we walked inti class and told us to solve it (we had just finished the last chapter/took a test the day before so this was all new). gave us a minute to 'figure it out', asked one student for the answer, and said all right next part. DIDNT EXPLAIN IT AT ALL.
