I competed in a tournament and had my opponent in this position for at least 3 minutes and couldn't finish the triangle. After seeing your video, I will have to review my match again. Thank you very much.

Check on head control with the top leg and the inverted knee 👍🏼

The comparison to transitioning to Ashi Garami off a normal Front Triangle was my “Eureka” moment! It’s the same motion. Thanks Brian!

That was FRESH! I never knew you had to invert so much. Thank you Brian. You are doing a great job.

Looks like a decoy "flower sweep setup" could be a nice setup to the reverse traingle. The angles look very similar

Hi Glick, great video. Thanks for the tips. What is choking your training partner? You have your right calf compressing his shoulder in the neck on one side, but where on your left leg are you strangling him?
@bzglick3 жыл бұрын
It doesn’t feel like the front triangle. Think about your left quad keeping his head down, closing the circuit for the triangle and compressing his head and arm

@@bzglick Thanks, I'll give it a try!

Thank you for sharing this great technique. Is there a specific (Japanese) name for this triangle. Also, would you recommend this version for someone with shorter legs?
@bzglick3 жыл бұрын
yes - hantai sankaku. if you can do the front triangle you can do this one. the key is getting your hips up to the armpit. good luck :)

I got a tap after trying this but a couple times, I found keeping their head from popping out once you invert is a little tough. I like it a lot though, I typically omaplata if they hide the arm
@bzglick3 жыл бұрын
Make sure you keep your thigh across the back of the head to maintain head control. Omoplata and kimura also good options

Hi Brian. Been trying this after meeting John at the Gordon Ryan seminar in Austin. The issue I’m having is that my Partners are saying they feel it in the shoulder more versus the neck. Is it because of my angle?
@bzglick3 жыл бұрын
Could be - but difficult to say without seeing it. My rec is to focus on keeping your quad on the back of the head and see if that helps 👍🏼
@TheCountryclubco3 жыл бұрын
@@bzglick thank you for the response! Last question, is it suppose to feel like a neck crank? My training buddies says it feels like a combo of a choke and neck crank-I guess when my knee is fully underneath their armpit
@sway713 жыл бұрын
So it's still the hamstring that's on the carotid, but it's the hamstring of the other leg? Just want to confirm, as I used to have pretty looking triangles that did nothing, because I was never taught what part of the leg was actually doing the strangling haha. Thank you!
@bzglick3 жыл бұрын
Focus on your quad on the back of the head for this and inverting the inside knee 👍🏼
